"Ocean El Faro is a solid 4- to 4 1/2 star hotel. Strengths are many and include: - New, lovely, clean, well maintained facilities including rooms, pools, lazy river, main lobby; - Friendly and hard working staff - waiters, bartenders, towel service, maid service, concierge; - Lovely sandy beach with little to no seaweed (surf can be rough for young and elderly with patches of reef); - Sakura asian restaurant, Ocean burgers, breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet (excellent bread and variety), and Mike's cafe (great coffee and variety) are food highlights; - Filled with young families to small groups of twenty somethings, elderly couples; - Great value. To be improved: - Restaurants - Sakura sets the standard, showing what the hotel is capable of. But the Italian, Mexican, and American restaurants were disappointing. - Room maintenance - spotty sometimes (e.g., no hand or face towels for a couple of days)."

"The resort is new (2021) and everything felt in excellent condition. Beach front area is very wide for the size of the resort, it never felt crowded. Service level felt higher than in other 5* Punta Cana resorts we travelled to. Food was consistently good and in great diversity, whether the buffet or the a la cart restaurants. Excellent facilities for kids of various ages (such as 3 pool areas for various age groups, in addition to the kids club), though a little limited for teens. The resort was close to capacity, yet the pool and beach areas never felt full/crowded, especially on the Excellence side of the resort. Weddings and events (e.g., graduation celebration) held almost every day during our stays, so expect larger groups and gatherings. I expect the resort was designed with generous sqft per guest, giving the sensation of quiet luxury. Evening events were a little boring, but also poorly attended (families with younger kids seemed retired for the evening). ~45min from the airport, further than the resorts on the Bavaro beach area."

"i love the serenade. they had amazing staff stephany by the pool as entertainment, henry and jermey as bartenders at the pool, and most importantly wilfrado at the lobby bar. they are impeccable and impressive workers at serenade. they made my experience comfortable and unforgettable we definitely love this resort "

"We had a great time staying here. Some of the food was good, some of it was mid - took about a day to find which buffets we enjoyed most. Both of the reservation restaurants were good. It's a bit hard to get out of the resort - have to get an uber through the front desk which costs more than regular. We took one of the excursions, "La Hacienda", through the resort and would highly recommend."
