"This is review is for the Ocean suites side. There are 2 properties, one in which you can walk to the other or take the free 5 min shuttle. We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to be able to take the 8 minutes water shuttle (operated by Renaissance) to go the the Flamingo island! This island is a must! I would not recommend swimming in the lagoon in front of the Ocean suite hotel, by pool area. The water is still, there and seaweed, etc has a funky odor. Other than this, all was enjoyable, staff, bell hops were incredibly friendly and offered suggestions, including manager (Alvin) who helped manage an concern - highly personable. We would definitely return to the Suites side!"

"A few minutes walk to downtown, the rooms were basic but clean, quiet and comfortable. Nice pool area and continental breakfast provided on a relaxing veranda. Great views of the bay and the surrounding hills. Excellent service, and if anything is needed just ask for Omar."

"We had a wonderful trip staying at the Royal at the Atlantis and I loved how easy Expedia made it to book (thank you!) Our rooms were beautiful and we had the VIP experience. Everyone was so nice. A few small things I wish I had known going in... There is very little shade around the Royal. The only place with Umbrellas walkable from our building was the Mayan Pools and they are noisy and tends to be where the little kids were (we have teenagers.) The quieter pools have no umbrellas at all and full blast from the sun. Also, the beach has no umbrellas. I'm fortunate enough to have traveled a lot of the Caribbean now and this was the first time I encountered this problem. Atlantis may want to reconsider this. Most people I know do want the sun but also the ability to get a little shade from it sometimes with an umbrella by the pool or by the beach. Also, I didn't know I needed to book dinners 90 days in advance. We were only able to have dinner on property one night because of my ignorance (I tried to do it 30 days in advance). But that was okay because I made dinner reservations off property in Nassau and had some incredible food. We had to travel by taxi to do this. But the restaurants were great about getting us taxis back and some of the taxi drivers gave us their cell phones to contact them directly to get back. For us, it turned out to be a positive. Beautiful resort. My teens loved the water slides. The spa was beautiful. Gorgeous views. Thank you! "
