"The property is very dated and is in need for a renovation by far. One of the two rooms we rented had ants all around the room. They did move us to another room. I would definitely recommend spending an extra 20 or $30 somewhere else for a more comfortable stay."

"The rooms can use new AC units as the rooms smelled due to water leaking I’m from the unties onto the floor. One of our rooms smelled bad. The showers have been updated but do not keep the water in the shower and leak onto the bathroom flooding which can cause a slip and fall."

"We stayed here during some torrential tropical storm weather but we had one of the incredible rooms at La Mer, which allowed us to sit outside of our room and enjoy the storm. Highly recommend La Mer! Absolutely adorable beautiful room. We noticed that they started bringing the beach loungers in and tying them up WELL before the storm so that was quite an inconvenience for some folks. "Gilbert’s is always a fun stop when you are entering or leaving the Keys! The staff is very nice. The rooms are clean and the first floor rooms with decks are always a bonus. The drinks are pretty good but restaurant leaves a lot to be desired so I would stick with the basics. "
