"Excellent place to stay. The gentleman at the hostel offers pick up and drop services from Yudanaka station, Snow monkey park and some onsens in Yamanouchi. Although he speaks only Japanese, he uses a translator and tries his best to communicate with you. We will be staying here again when we come back."

"This was the best place I stayed at in Japan. Host is very helpful, friendly, considerate and speaks very good English. I felt like it was my home after the first 24 hours. "町家を改装したゲストハウスということで、太い梁が見えるつくりになっていたり、照明が行灯風になっていたり、室内が和風で統一された空間になっています。古い建物を利用していて、それでいて清潔感があり、木の温もりを感じることができます。 客室について、ドミトリーでも障子で仕切られているため、プライバシーが保てます。 場所について、新潟駅からBRTに乗り、古町バス停から徒歩10分ほどでゲストハウスに着きます。位置がやや分かりにくいので、地図やゲストハウスのウェブサイトを見て確認したほうがいいと思います。周囲の古町はお洒落なカフェ等があり、若い人が街を盛り上げようとしているのが伝わってきました。特にゲストハウスお手製のマップは必見です。"

(When flushing the upstairs toilet, it is difficult to sit on down stairs toilet. water will pop-up). Using kerosine heaters are not good for the closed rooms. There was no air ventilation system."
