"I thought this was going to be one of those lovely, quaint boutique hotels, based on the photos I saw on the web. NO, it isn't. It is dark, depressing, and run down. Old heat/air system was broken while we were there so it was about 80 degrees inside the hotel. Everything is old and worn. Our room was supposed to be a suite, but there was no sofa or chair to sit on and the room was tiny, dark and hot. "Friendly staff and I’d like to give a big shout out to my front desk ladies! If I had an issue, they were on it! The parking lot and the area around it are a little sketchy but it’s a very nice location for an easy walk to Ghent or the heart of downtown! Renè was also an excellent bartender. I didn’t try their food because there’s so much good food to go out to so close! "

"Overall it was great. Had issue with the tv cable. Had to call and the maintenance guy had to come in and found the cable was ripped out of the back of the tv. Then the AC/heater never go the room above 64 degrees as the unit was short cycling. "

"We came to visit our son who just returned from deployment and his family. We just hung out mostly at the house. There was plenty of room for our little ones to play and run around. I wouldn’t say it’s the most young child friendly with all the pretties and niceties all around. Our toddlers understand don’t touch so we were fine. Beautiful property and location on the lake. Chuck was great, and we hardly saw him. Interesting guy to talk to. He always had coffee ready in the mornings....
