"The staff was great! Even dealing with the disappointing mistake that Expedia made with our reservations and the status of our balance due, they lady at the desk was very patient and understanding with my frustration, showing sympathy and care. She made sure that our room would not be held, being that they were nearly at capacity. Mark, the bellhop, was absolutely amazing! He was super friendly, respectful and treated us like we were the only people staying at the hotel. He knew the issues that I had to deal with checking in and he remembered exactly who we were when we came back to get our things after 5 hours, and where our things were without even needing to look at our ticket. He gave us tips and tricks for navigating the city. He even took the time to teach our 7-year a magic trick. I've stayed in NYC a couple of times, and hands down this was the best hotel experience I've had. Perfect location. Rooms were not shoebox size, they didn't break the bank and equal half of the vaca budget. Our room was clean and well maintained. If I had to find something negative, it would be that the HVAC chiller unit went down for 1 night and the room started getting very warm. However when we called to have someone check on it, a serviceman visited quickly and explained why, that it was currently being fixed, offered a fan, and had us open our windows. It cooled down plenty enough. I am sure in the hot summer, this would be a bigger problem. Regardless, very satisfied. I will go back. "

"The location was perfect - just a few blocks to the MOMA and Broadway. The reception staff (especially Peter) were friendly and helpful. All of that more than made up for the disastrous elevators (the control panels were often out of service and the service was slow) and the broken WiFi. Still overall, a great deal. I would absolutely stay here again. "

"The location for the new yorker was very convenient if you plan to stay in the Manhattan area. The train station is less than a 5 minute walk away. Several food options closeby including food options at the hotel. The staff and housekeeping were kind and helpful. I had concerns about random charges that were applying to my room during my stay but they were patient with me and helped me understood where they were coming from. It turned out that i wasn't being charged extra but instead the remaining balance that wasn't charged during my booking on orbitz. The only downside is that you may have trouble sleeping if you're a light sleeper because you can hear the traffic or construction work in your room. However they do warn you about that at checkout. Overall it was an amazing experience. I'm glad to have stayed at the New Yorker during my time in NYC. Would certainly book here again in the future. "
