"Grand size hotel near the Central train station but away from the noise and the busyness that is Amsterdam. Beautiful Art Deco structure and design. Very large rooms. Only complaint is that the working desk did not have anything like a suitable chair. We had to haul over a giant cushion-chair to use. Still - 5 stars. "

"We loved our stay at the Jan Luyken from the moment we walked in. It is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of the Museum Quarter that offers the best in service. Our room was perfect for our needs and the staff could NOT have been better. Everyone is young and helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is light but healthy and plentiful and afternoon drinks and snacks add a great touch. We recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone."

"What a gem of a place. I was a little sceptical from the street as I imagined it to was going to be outdated and noisey inside but it was anything but. Climbing the (steep) stairs to receiption we received a warm welcome from the staff who were being supervised by one of the resident cats. We checked in and were offered a drink and for our bags to be stored as we were early. Returning later, our bags had already been taken to our room on the top floor for us. "Classic but maintenance must be upgraded, suggest adding dehumidifier to keep dry the rooms,there were construction outside the buildings, noisy and dirty ,but why not inform guests before?"
