"We were traveling through Sicily and decided to stay at the Valle Galfina for only one night while exploring the Mt Etna area. It was tricky to locate the property due to limited signage but things began well with a welcome and glass of wine. However, we seemed to be the only people staying and the owner disappeared for the remainder of the day. Doors were locked and we had to figure out neither the restaurant or bar were open. "This place was lovely, right on the slopes of mount Etna. Guiseppe and Louisa were fantastic hosts and were very friendly and helpful. Good set up of our apartment with separate living space to bedroom with lots of room. Only downside was small shower and no AC. On the day we were leaving they were quite happy for us to take our time as room was free for that day so woke up late and after sorting ourselves out we took a tour of the winery. "Loved the view of Mt Etna especially during eruptions! Staff very helpful, breakfast was fine - but go down early if you want the full choice, pool was great. Limited options at pool bar, but plenty of sunbeds (never a towel scramble as you get in some places!) Decent size room and good shower."
