"On our penultimate day of a short jaunt through the Ardennes, we had an enjoyable time in Montherme, visiting the Roc la Tour also know as the Castle of the Devil! There was no chance of taking a boat trip on the river as everything seemed to have closed down, which was a shame as the boat was moored there and the timetable suggested it should have been going."
"The chalet was clean, although small, there was sufficient space for our motorcycle gear and space outside to leave luggage. The area around the lake is good for walking and due to it being end of season, very quiet throughout the day and night. The breakfast service was poor and does not represent good value. The first day there were no bowls for creals and no clean tea mugs. On the second day we were the only two diners. The cleaners were in the room drinking coffee when we arrived so there...
"If you want a terrible night sleep, stay here.
The hotel was empty but I was put in the room next to reception which is honestly terrible unless you don't want to sleep.
There is a big gap between the floor and the door so you might as well just leave the door open at this stage.
When I asked if I could be moved to another room, I was told I would have to pay extra to upgrade.
If a hotel can't provide the basics of a quiet room, it doesn't meet its primary function.

"A lovely location in the heart of rural France.
Nice room, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with excellent shower, free toiletries.
Charming hosts who also work the organic farm and are very interesting to talk to.
A great breakfast with delicious local produce. Bookmarked so I can stay on future visits!!"
"Relaxing hotel with all the facilities. Lovely outdoor pool with a good temperature. Great restaurant. Good spot for visiting the Belgian breweries !"
"We enjoyed the lake view but not so much the fact that it is indeed a village and not a hotel and sometimes visitors might book a 2-night stay to celebrate and spoil the otherwise quiet surroundings."
"The staff were pre-occupied by a wedding, no bar or restaurant available. We understand the diversion, but we were still paying guests!
Hotel is tired and needs some TLC to get it back to the advertised level."
"Landlady made clear - repeatedly! - this was not a hotel and had double booked one of our two triple rooms. She did find another hotel for two of my guests, but that is not what we wanted! We wanted the group together! So not at all impressed with the organisation or the breakfast which was poor for 15 euro per person. "

The first day there were no bowls for creals and no clean tea mugs. On the second day we were the only two diners. The cleaners were in the room drinking coffee when we arrived so there was not enough coffee left. I asked for more, they gave us a flask, locked the service room and left. They hadn't made more coffee but simply topped up the flask with water so the last bit we had was undrinkable. We then realised they had locked away the breads and croissants, leaving us nothing to eat. I told the office about this and as we had only eaten half a breakfast I asked for a refund of one but this was refused. We had a long ride that day and wanted a good start to the day, not to pay for the cleaners' breakfast. Overall the stay was good and I recommend it to others but advise against having the breakfast. "Amazing cabin by the river, everything we needed and super cosy warm with the wood burner.
Instructions about the property were perfect and covered everything we needed, easy to find.
Location is very quiet but within a short drive of a number of towns with everything you need, plus a number of supermarkets. Loved this place, hope to return soon."

"The apartments were fantastic, a real sense of quality, and even with other rooms around you it felt very private. We opted for a lake view and I'm so glad we did - with panoramic views of the lake from large glass windows/doors. The space itself was excellent with a large living area and a small but useful kitchen area. The accommodation is ideally located for Natura Parc leisure facilities - and whilst they are different organisations it would be good if they had better communication/links with each other. For example we had to depart our room for 11am whereas Natura Parc does not open until 1pm. As it was raining we decided to drive on to our next location rather than wait around for 2 hours. Had Natura Parc opened earlier we would have gone there. Whilst this is not the fault of the accommodation it would have been useful if you could check out later on or if there was somewhere you could eat lunch to pass the time until Natura Parc opened."
