"I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in January 2025 and was glad I chose it. The front desk at check-in was congenial and efficient and answered the few questions I had and allowed me to check-in early. My room was well arranged, very clean and up to date. I really appreciated that the windows had two blinds: one for total blackout darkness and another more sheer to allow light in but still provide privacy. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, too, and had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi was quick and stable. The only negative was sound penetration of the room. The door allowed more noise than I expected to come in whenever anyone left or returned to the room next door. Happily they weren't coming at odd hours so there was no real impact on the quality of my stay. Similarly with the sound of water from, I assume, the shower running in the room above or adjacent to my own. It was surprisingly obvious but, again, not at times that impacted my sleep, etc. Another complaint not about the room but about hotel policy is the ridiculous "resort" fee. The Westgate is a fine hotel and I enjoyed my stay immensely but a $40US non-optional fee is ridiculous, especially since it only covers bottled water, wi-fi and the fitness centre. In 2025 wi-fi isn't a luxury at a hotel, it's as basic a feature as a bed and shower. The Westgate is a fine hotel and shouldn't have to resort to sham resort fees. Still, I had a great stay and would stay again. "

"I was not as impressed with the first room I was offered. Room 3236. It was dirty and dusty. Stains on the curtains and sofa and one on the bed. Furniture was outdated and really beat up. I asked front desk for a different room shortly after and got room 4037. The room was up to Hilton standards! I was impressed with the cleanliness and spectacular view of the city. This is what I paid for and expected from Hilton. I appreciated the staff and location and the amenities. I will gladly stay here again if I get a room similar to 4037 again "

The first time I stayed at the grand Hyatt was in 1984 and since that time it has grown and prospered and is a fantastic place to stay in midtown Manhattan! Located directly above Grand Central Station, there are plenty of dining and shopping options as well as access to anywhere in the five boroughs. "
