"This house is in a great spot, close to everything but with the charm of a quiet suburban neighborhood. The house is nice and everything was as advertised. The proximity to the metro makes it super convenient to take a trip over into DC. The host was super friendly and very responsive to all communication. "

"Our trip with our young adult college students went so well in large part due to the amazing space, well-stocked, and hospitable accommodations. We had room for large group gatherings and sharing meals together and quiet space for each student. The grounds and scenery are gorgeous. Well-maintained home and kind host. Wally even helped me unload as well as give me a tour of the home so I knew where everything was at. We definitely recommend this stay!"

"Note: "Pet Friendly" only extends to dogs under 20 pounds. The park trails along the Potomac were its best feature. They start just a very short walk from the front door. The house worked out very well for us. It was sparsely furnished and some elements were slightly shabby, but it was fine as we were most interested in getting together. It was excellent value for the many bedrooms. Just don't expect a mansion. "

"This was the perfect country style visit right next to the city so it fit my versatile family perfectly to bring in year 2025. Beautiful house! Beautiful view, especially the night sky. Precious horses. Only negative, very extreme, is their repellent killed my pets. I will definitely visit again, but will leave my pets home next time. "

"We had 14 people stay throughout the weekend. Plenty of room to join the fun or find a quiet space. The views were stunning and kitchen was well appointed. Everyone slept wells so the beds are great. You have a small town about 4 miles away were you can pick up items you may need. Harris Teeter is 12 miles away. Great stay! Vonda "

We had the opportunity to stay in the “Scientist’s Suite.” Looking at the pictures, leafing through the books, the pieces to the puzzle began to connect. "Hilldale Farmhouse has a lot of history and beauty. We had a family wedding with folks traveling from Fl. we all wanted to stay in one place. It was perfect. What I did not realize was the porch with the two twin beds was only screened in. Since this was the case we had a couple folks sleeping on couches. Other than that it was wonderful. "

"Very charming home. Lots of land and privacy to enjoy the outdoors. Even with the snow and ice, we did not have any issues driving up to the house. The ponds were frozen when we were there so we could not fish, but we really enjoyed target shooting and walking through the snowy trails. We saw lots of deer and animal trails:) The owner was very responsive if we had any questions. Stores were close if you need anything. Our family had 3 adults a teenager and a pre-teen.
