"The property is just as described. The views are amazing. The location is unique and eclectic. We enjoyed eating and listening to music during open mic at a bar in Pahoa. We also were able to spend a Wednesday night at Uncle Roberts bar and market enjoying the music and atmosphere that area is known for. The trip to the Volcanoes National Park is an easy hour drive and well worth the trip. This is a great location if you're looking for some relaxation and discovering Island life independent of commercial excursions and tours."

"The space was organic and lovely for my partner and I. The night skies were so beautiful due to the lack of light pollution and the property had access to the ocean across an interesting lava flow. Definitely a unique and wonderful location. People in the community were very friendly as well. Would recommend this location for adults wishing a romantic, peaceful, beautiful environment. "

"One doesn't really go to the lodge for its fabulous amenities. It is a piece of history and as such - sure, it's dated, no TV most rooms are a bit small and the washrooms are tiny - But clean. You go there for the volcano! This time around (our 5th time staying here) the volcano was right out front. Nice dinner in the pub with a non stop view. Plus we splurged on the large park side room and watched the action all night. The staff are truly wonderful and live the Aloha spirit. Highly recommend "

"We really enjoyed the unique decor and setup. Our room had a separate coffee and sitting area, which allowed one of us to wake up early. The facility also covers heat and cold really well, with different built in heaters, a fan and extra blankets. Only small gripe - it has a fancy TV built into the wall that would not turn off. We suggested that the facility provide directions. On a positive note, the facility gave great directions and reminders in other areas. So, definitely come here if you’re hanging out in Volcano and don’t mind quiet hours starting at 9 pm. The town shuts down early."

"We’ve stayed in the Volcano area three times and this was the best accommodation by far. Check-in was flawless and our room was clean, large, and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything. There was a mini-fridge with freezer and a microwave. There were also a few necessary cups, dishes, silverware and glassware. This is SO important in Volcano, as there are so few dining options. If you bring a well-stocked cooler, you could spend several days here comfortably. We would stay here again."
