"This hotel is an easy walk up the street from the train station and there are numerous dining options in the area. Good home base for exploring Matsumoto. The hotel itself is nice, but the rooms are rather small, if you are used to "Western" accommodations. The baths are very nice, segregated and get a lot of use. The free laundry (wash was free, dryer was not) was a nice feature for travelers. They also offer a free bow of ramen at night!"

"Wonderful stay in Yudanaka Hotel Housei. Everything from check in to check out was superb. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They drove us to the Snow Monkey park and to the train station. The breakfast buffet was delicious with so many traditional foods. Onsen was relaxing after a cold day walking around. Will be back!"

"Excellent Ryokan. Breakfast and late night sake tasting included free. Very short walk to excellent local restaurants and train station. Very easy to access for tourists"

"Clean but needed vacuuming under bed and around tv. Convenient to train station for touring and close to shopping and a variety of restaurants, with onson Lots of complimentary nice touches-toothbrushes, tips, shavers, ice cream and late nite noodles. The light control was poor-automatic light came on bright, whenever you got close to the entry and sink (annoying at night)."

"Our stay here in March 2025 was wonderful. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, even picked us up from the station without prior arrangement! The food was incredible, traditional Japanese breakfast that set us up for the day and a delicious dinner which when combined with the sake and very comfortable futons ensured a great night’s sleep. "This property was beautiful and very clean. Staff are super friendly and accomodating. It is a bit out the way from main areas of Hakuba. However, the hotel does have a shuttle bus, only on a limited schedule though. "
