Our Tasting of 4 typical wines features 4 different local labels from our partner winery Mamete Prevostini. accompanied by two courses of chopping boards with a selection of Valtellina cold cuts (Salame nostrano, Bresaola IGP della Valtellina and Pancetta tesa pepata). We start with Opera, an Alpi Retiche IGT vinified in white, with a fresh and fruity flavour and then move on to Monrose, an Alpi Retiche IGT, this time vinified in rosé, with hints of small red fruits and dog rose. We then move on to the reds with the third label Santarita, Rosso di Valtellina DOC, a medium-bodied wine with part of the ageing in wooden barrels. The finale is reserved for Marena, Sassella DOCG, a full-bodied red from the largest area of Valtellina Superiore that, thanks to its 12-month ageing in oak + 8 months in the bottle, results in a structured wine with an aftertaste of Amarena as its name in the local dialect recalls.
