The museum is the renovated studio and residence of Fumio Asakura, the first sculptor to be awarded the Order of Cultural Merit. The building is a combination of the atelier portion of a reinforced concrete Western-style building and the residence portion of a wooden sukiya-style building. In the Japanese-style courtyard surrounded by the building, there is a pond in which many carp, including Nishikigoi, swim and seasonal flowers can be enjoyed.

The staircase is popular for its sunset view from the top of the lively shopping street. From here, you can see all the way down the street of Yanaka Ginza, and in the evening, it is known as a place where the sunset can be seen over the shopping street. The view of the shopping street with the setting sun is very picturesque. We will take a commemorative photo here.
