We will start this visit by getting to know the wonders housed in the Museum of the Cathedral of Santiago, which will help us to understand the whole history of the construction of this basilica. Did you know that the first stone of the Romanesque Cathedral was laid in 1075 but it was not consecrated until 1211?
After this, we will enter the interior of the Cathedral and we will visit all its spaces: the chapels, the ambulatory, the main altar, the Holy Sepulchre, the Botafumeiro, the organs…
Finally, we will have access to one of the most important medieval jewels of the European Romanesque: the Portico de la Gloria, which after its recent restoration we will have to access from the outside of the Cathedral.
