We will have a whole day to get to know the culture, people, and history of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. From the Taray viewpoint, we will take our first panoramic look at the entire immensity of the valley. We will arrive at Pisac, a traditional town characterised by its quiet streets and its market where it proudly lives its ancient heritage represented in its textile art, ceramics, pieces of jewellery and other crafts.

We will enjoy the local flavour in a restaurant during lunch and continue our journey to two important points. In Ollantaytambo, an ancient military, religious and agricultural centre strategically located on a mountain, we will tour its imposing fortress that shows all the Inca power and offers an unbeatable view of the town, the only one inhabited to this day that maintains the original Inca urban design. We will head to Moray archaeological site, which resembles a natural amphitheatre, functioned as a laboratory and agricultural research centre according to some studies. Its enormous concentric terraces and the variety of microclimates they created allowed the growth of a wide variety of crops. Finally, the ancient salt mines of Maras can’t be out of our tour, we will see almost 3,000 pools full of the highly coveted salt – one of the finest in the world – which during Inca times was a highly coveted and valuable commodity. With stunning panoramic views of the mosaic of terraces and ponds, Maras offers the perfect setting for photography enthusiasts.
