I didn't come with high expectations, because I booked the cheapest option that would still allow me to get back into the swing of all things Mendoza wine after a 7-year hiatus. What a pleasant surprise! Comprehensive 5-hour tour with a good contrast between (almost) corporate wine manufacturing (Bodega Lopez) and a more intimate family affair (Don Arturo). We ran into a heavy rain storm after our first stop, and Claudia, our guide, managed to squeeze us into Milllan/Laur's visitor schedule for an introduction to their vinegar-making process. That was a fun & manageable trip for a quarter of the price of the usual full-day tour. Minor nuisance, there is no lunch included, and little time to grab a bite to eat en route. To be fair, this is mentioned on the website, so come prepared.

Our guide Micah (sorry for the spelling) and driver were amazing and made the trip for us. The first winery was Lopez and we had a small tour and a few tasters. The olive oil stop was the best a short tour and plenty of tasting. The third stop was Florio and it was terrible the tour was about 5 minutes long with a few terrible wines we were rushed all the way through this winery so we couldn’t enjoy it at all. The Spanish half of the group seemed to get plenty more wines without rushing as we had to wait at the van for 20 minutes for them to come out after we’d finished

Communication prior to trip with provider was patchy and lacked consistency. Guide on bus was very informative in Spanish, less so in English. There was no idea given on timings for itinerary and a lot of time was wasted hanging around - for example English speaking group finished one winery tour 25 minutes ahead of Spanish speaking group. Bus seemed to travel at slower speed to give guide time to deliver talks mainly in Spanish. At end of tour guide issued feedback forms which they wanted completed in handwriting whilst travelling over bumpy roads. All forms had to be handed back to guide.
