What you can expect

Embark on an evening trip to see the Aurora Borealis. Hear fascinating facts about them from your guides, and search to see the lights first-hand.
Depart the bright lights of Reykjavík city centre to see the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis. Also known as the “Northern Lights,” it is one of the most spectacular shows during winter months.

Head for wherever meteorologists have predicted the lights will be at their best. To get stunning views of the sky you will aim for areas with no artificial light.
Hear explanations of how the Aurora Borealis is caused as a result of the gaseous particles in the earth’s atmosphere colliding with charged particles released from the sun’s atmosphere.

Benefit from an itinerary that includes stops for you to go outside and take photographs. The locations visited differ from day to day, but you will head in the direction with the most chance of seeing Mother Nature at work.
As the tour is weather-dependent, and sightings are not guaranteed, you are also invited to join another Northern Lights tour free of charge if the lights don’t appear.

I put together a vlog showing my experience https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdR2GUs2/ On a night where it looked like the lights weren’t going to appear. They appeared! This was partly down to the persistence and determination of the guide and driver. They were helpful and informative. In all honestly I kept telling myself if I don’t see them “it’s fine” but I am so glad I got to and I fully believe this bus tour was the best way to do it! Thanks again to everyone who run this bus tour 😃

Steinunn was a great guide! We didn’t see the lights on the first trip so we rearranged for no extra cost and Steinunn was great at finding them and explaining the lights. She even sent round a QR code so we could ask questions and make song requests to play as we drove. As soon as we got off the bus we spotted the lights. As we drove to a second location we pulled over as Steinunn spotted the lights again. The bus was very nice and in my opinion it was better on the bigger bus because there was a toilet which I don’t think you would get on a smaller tour.

Had an amazing Northern Lights tour! The company was highly professional, even calling us to confirm the location and time. And the best part—we got to witness the breathtaking Northern Lights! A well-organized and unforgettable experience. The only downside was that the hot chocolate wasn’t up to the mark, but everything else was fantastic. Highly recommend!
