Our Hawaiian family takes great pride in sharing Hanalei’s rich history and culture with you. Our ocean-river combo tour departs from our private dock and will take you to a hidden beach. Learn to snorkel in the clear blue Pacific amongst our abundant marine life. Or simply eat lunch or snacks, “talk storey” and relax on the beach. This is a great family friendly tour for ages 5 years and up.

  • Participants are welcome to use their personal snorkel gear with the exception of full face snorkel masks. Full Face Snorkel Masks are not permitted on tour. All participants are required to use a traditional 2 piece snorkel and mask set.
  • 225lbs weight limit per person (exception of up to 250lbs if 6' or taller)
  • Pregnant travellers 28 weeks or less are welcome to participate
  • All participants must be in good physical health, can paddle on their own, & get in/out of kayak on their own without assistance

Activity itinerary

Hanalei Bay
  • 5h
Slip into Hanalei River from our own private dock. We will head down stream sharing history of the Hanalei river & getting comfortable in our kayaks before heading out into Hanalei Bay where we spend the majority of our time. There we check out our Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu) before heading over to the beach where we will land our kayaks and take everyone out snorkelling (45 mins). Guides will share modern day reef ecology and point out what to look for while snorkelling. After snorkelling we provide a full deli style lunch, sit, hang out, & answer any questions you may have about our island. Our guides are born and raised here and take pride in sharing their island knowledge. This tour has an 8am check in time and runs from 8:30am-1pm. We will fit you for snorkel gear (you are welcome to bring your own full set of gear or a full set will be provided(no mix & match of gear). Full face masks not permitted on tour. *Upon booking, an email request will be sent for a lunch selection.

The tour exceeded our expectations. We went on a kayak ride and learned about the local area and language. We saw several turtles in the river. While snorkeling in the ocean we saw four different turtles, octopus, eel, and many fish. The lunch is high quality. I would definitely recommend this tour. It’s an excellent opportunity to see the north shore with a guide.

A great way to spend some energy, enjoy learning about Kauai, laughing and seeing what nature has to offer. Our guide, I'm afraid I would not do his name justice trying to write it, was exceptionally knowledgeable, fun and friendly, yet very professional in the care of our group. We were in the river and ocean the day before the winter swells came in, and even then we paddled some - We thank you for a great morning, and would recommend this to anyone!

I felt everything we needed to know was laid out perfectly. Pre-Trip information was sent out that made it easy to find the location, order the lunch and know exactly what the trip entailed. The staff was wonderful, efficient on time and gave great information about the history of Hanalei, the river And what to expect while snorkeling. Safety tips and information were very helpful. It was beautiful and the guides were fun, knowledgeable and concerned for everyone's safety. We saw a lot of cool fish and large sea turtles. The kayaking and snorkeling were fun and the picnic lunch was welcome before the paddle back!

Once in a lifetime experience! Kayaking from the river to the ocean was so exciting. Gabe was very knowledgeable on the culture and history of the area. He was even able to show us a sea turtle while snorkeling. A big shout out to Gabe for being so kind and welcoming to us-he embodies the spirit of the island!
