What you can expect

Depart from Seville and head to Tarifa, where you take a ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to the African city of Tangier. Walk through the narrow city streets with your guide and explore this enchanting Moroccan city that perfectly blends European and African flavours together.

Start your day with a comfortable ferry ride from the southern tip of Spain to the African continent, arriving in Tangier, a city that rests halfway between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Follow your guide into the medina, a distinct walled section of the city that is found in many North African towns. Here you find the city's Old Town, the thriving centre of Tangier's bustling streets.

With nearly 1 million inhabitants, Tangier blends distinct Moroccan elements with newer architectural additions in a cohesive manner. Prove it to yourself by leaving Old Town and visiting the modern buildings along the water, adjacent to the recently opened Tangier-Med, the largest port in Africa.

Next, transport yourself back into the past by exploring a traditional souk (market). Dodge snake-charmers, inhale the sweet fragrance of herbs and spices, and shop for lovely handmade crafts that make perfect souvenirs. After a day of navigating this booming Moroccan hub, return to the port of Tangier to head back to the Spanish coast.

What an incredible 16-hour day. It took a little longer than anticipated, but it was worth it. The only visit I would have omitted was the fake, man-made Caves of Hercules. I would have rather visited another historical site or local merchant. Miguel and Rachis were incredible at keeping us together, informed, and laughing. Tangiers was not what I expected and I look forward to an extended visit in the future.

It was an awesome experience. Both our guides are friendly and helpful throughout the guided tour. The tour inside the serpentine alleys of the souk was great showcasing the best of Moroccan culture. The lunch was delicious. There were musicians during lunch. We did not have enough time to shop though.

Rachid Chioua was an excellent tour guide in Tangier. He was lively and full of energy. My wife and I felt safe and cared for at every stop. He was exceptionally wonderful in the market of the Medina. I ran out of euros and he would not allow me to use an atm to get money to tip him as the Moroccan dirham exchange rate was not favorable. He instead asked me for an honest review. Rachid was a class act. He even helped me negotiate better prices in some shops. I can’t wait for our kids to be old enough an share this experience. The bus ride to and from Seville was not bad. I just really needed a coffee to start my day and was not able to get one before 10:30am. That said, the drive was scenic and otherwise pleasant.

It was a fun and interesting day. The tour guide Carlos was e Informative and patient. Very personable. The bus pickup location was convenient. Restaurant lunch was good and typical Moroccan. With musicians. The tour to Hercule grotto. Along beautiful coastline. The camel rides were so much fun f for only 2 euros. The shopping in grand socco a little overwhelming. But great stop at the scarf and rug maker. No pressure. The vendors in the socco are quite persistent but polite.

Well organised tour to Tangier, the driver was prompt and friendly. The guide Rashid was amusing and also made you feel safe as very well known locally. Well organised trip and we’ll worth the cost and time.
