The three-tiered waterfall of Kuang Si is a favourite excursion for visitors to Luang Prabang. This small-group tour takes you off the beaten track on an alternative walk to the falls. You'll follow a trail through lush forests and pass through local villages before arriving at the falls' refreshing turquoise pools at the falls. After a swim, you'll visit the Bear Rescue Centre and a Hmong village.
Pick up time at 9:00-9:30 AM, we drive to southeast of Luang Prabang and arrive at our starting point Long Lao Village where Khmu and Hmong people live together. After visiting the hillside village, we enter into jungle forests. Trekking across rice paddies, the orchards, farm land and forest, we will see the beauty scenery of Luang Prabang countryside on the way. As we continue to trekking, we reach the mountainous jungle and find natural springs which are source of Kuang Si Waterfalls.
3-4 hours of trekking take us to the crystal clear Kuang Si Waterfalls. Lunch break at a restaurant. We explore the three layered Kuang Si waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and also visit the Bear Rescue Centre.
In the late afternoon, we drive back to Luang Prabang. On your way back you will stop at the resettlement village of the Hmon people. Back to your accommodation or city centre between 5:30-6:00 PM.
