Overview

On this private full day Tour, you will enjoy the 3 most important tourist attractions in the “Kurpfalz” region in just 1 day.

Besides magnificent Heidelberg with its romantic castle and beautiful baroque old town you will see the birthplace of the car, the first Mercedes Benz factory and museum (if open - otherwise we stop in the picturesque middle age village of Ladenburg), plus world famous Schwetzingen palace gardens (May to Oct.).

In an easy and entertaining manner, you will learn a lot about the area’s history and spectacular sights. Lunch break (not included) will be in a typical, cosy German restaurant, offering local specialities as well as international or vegetarian cuisine.

During the car ride your guide will supply lots of interesting information about Germany in general and give you helpful advice for the continuation of your holiday.

This was my first time to Germany. I was very interested in seeing some towns, learning background and history. I’m glad that I found Maik! I initially booked a tour of Heidelberg. I worked with him in advance as I had an extra day in Germany. I wanted advice on where to visit and he recommended Rothenburg. I’m glad that I took his advice and booked that tour too. I enjoyed both tours very much! I have traveled a lot and toured many places around the world. I was looking for a local expert and found a world expert! He has been to more places around the world than anyone I have ever met! I learned so much about Germany during both tours and places around the world! I consider Maik more like a friendly companion than a tour guide. We had great discussions on both days that made the travel time to these towns move quickly. I highly recommend Maik if you are looking for someone with a wealth of knowledge, great discussions and memories!

If you’re really into history then this is good for you. I had two teenagers who were talking quietly in the back seat when our guide told them to shut up I’m talking. The first half of the day nobody was allowed to talk as he wanted to tell us his story. While actually a nice guy he insisted we remain silent the first half of the day. I am a very patient person however at his favorite restaurant I wanted to browse the menu and was actually told I needed to wait until he said I could look. I’m 67 and as well as the others we were treated like we were children. He got better after lunch. Myself it was a terrible experience

We had an amazing tour in Heidelberg! The Mercedes museum is closed on Tuesdays so we had more time in the villiage and castle, it was magical!

Great trip, highly recommend it. Maik was very personable, knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. When rain curtailed the gardens, he took us to another fascinating location. Lots of information, great experience. Thanks Maik

Mike is very knowledgeable and trio was well organized. However we did feel a little rushed trying to cover the Heidelberg castle, town, bridge, Karl Benz museum (which was closed on that day) and Ladenburg/garden all in 8 hours. It is probably better to do just a Heidelberg tour, walk around the town, relax and do some shopping and enjoy the atmosphere.
