What you can expect

The UNESCO tour offers two convenient meeting points to pick-up: one in Bari at Largo Eroi del Mare and another at the activity provider's office in Polignano a Mare, accommodating participants from both locations for a day of exploration and discovery.

Admire the whitewashed stone trulli huts in Alberobello and some of the oldest settlements in Italy in Matera on this day drip from Polignano a Mare and Bari. Have some free time along the way to purchase a lunch in Alberobello.

Matera is beautiful! Alberobello too. In Matera we had some free time but in Alberobello not. Would have been nice to have some free time there too to explore more. But the guide knew a lot about Matera and Alberobello. Would have been nice to have more tome in Alberobello too. The price was a bit expensive and there is public transport to Alberobello(though not a lot) and Matera

Great communication from the tour company. Everything ran on time and transport was outstanding. Our driver Giovanni was friendly and incredibly helpful. The tour guide Grace was knowledgeable and personable and adapted to her audience. Her English was brilliant! She provided helpful anecdotes and made the trip thoroughly enjoyable. I'd totally recommend this trip!

Our guide Cosimo in Matera was wonderful! Our guide Valeria was good too but the section with the B & B truilli was not very interesting and construction was goung on. I would have liked more time in the other section with the church and the shops. Also there was no time for lunch in Matera which made for a very long day. At 4:15 in Alberobello we had some free time but had to very quickly eat a panino. Could be organized better.

Be more clear as to what the itinerary is in regards to " a small intimate group in a Mercedes mini van, vs a huge bus with several dozen people"

It was very informative and I really learned a lot from the guide Francesco he was very knowledgeable about the two places and he really seemed to enjoy what he knew about Maters and Alberobello !! The wine tasting was very entertaining too !!

Alberobello & Matera UNESCO tour is definitely worth checking out. We have started our day visiting magnificent Matera and had a guided tour for approximately 1.5 hours, which was quite exhausting, because it was a particularly hot day and not much free time was given. Alberobello was the second part of the tour and even though it was a charming and interesting place, but our free time there was also very short. Overall, the experience would have been way better if guided tours were shortened (information given was interesting but too long).

Wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide Francesco knows his way around Matera and Alberobello like no other. Had experienced authentic and friendly encounters with the locals and had some tastings included as well. Bravo!
