I can’t recommend Johnny’s tour enough. We learned so much about Durban culture and history. He helped us push our comfort zone yet we felt safe 100% of the time. The experience in the markets was unique and chaotic and I felt privileged to have the experience as a tourist. Be prepared to walk and be curious. Johnny loves questions. The tour made our trip to Durban.

Jonny was fantastic! We had a rocky start to Durban and quite a few scare mongers so we thought we’d book this walking tour. Jonny took us around in local transport to ensure we had the local experience, he explained the history across SA and Durban in much detail. Jonny also ensured we met locals and gave us a heads up on what to expect when visiting some of the places on the itinerary. The markets can look quite overwhelming to a tourist but what was great is that Jonny had built up a network so not only were we 100% safe there, everyone welcomed us with open arms. Whilst on the tour we just happened to be walking past a mosque which my friend and I expressed interest in. While we took a few pictures on the outside Jonny went and organised an off the cuff tour with the local iman for us. We finished the tour by the beach with a popular Durban dish called the Bunny Chow. It was absolutely delicious and worth having. Make sure you eat with your hands to get the fill taste.

Johnny is very nice and super knowledgeable, he showed me places I would have never seen otherwise. We went to the local markets and he gave me a full intro to the history and background of today's Durban. I was there as a single female and felt save at all times. Will recommend to all my family and friends! You will not get this unique experience with any other tour in Durban, enjoy!

The tour was a fantastic, full-bodied experience of Durban and the culture. The tour guide Johnny was a wealth of knowledge and a very entertaining humour. we went really into the heart of the zulu market and were immersed in all the local delicacies of which we tried many (was fantastic) and got to experience how the real peoples of Durban commute on the combi mini-buses with the locals which you wouldnt have got with other tour companies. very welcoming of tourists and eager to share their culture with you and strike up conversations. Meal paid for by Johnnay at a lovely beach restaurant.with a great view of the seafront. Johnny even walked us back to our hotel. couldn't have asked for a better guide to take us around this tour, the value of money just to experience the culture first hand and have everything explained to us from someone who has lived here all their life is fantastic value for money, we will be doing other tours in the future with him.
