In this excursion I want to show you one of those places that you will keep in your memory forever: the Alpujarra of Granada.
After arranging a meeting point, I will pick you up in my vehicle to drive for approximately 1.5 hours to the first of the 3 villages we will visit: Pampaneira.
Pampaneira is one of those beautiful white villages that seem to be hanging in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. We will walk through its streets to get to know the curious and particular architecture of this region. We will enter some of its stores to know the local handicraft products: “jarapas” (carpets), honey, chocolate…
After Pampaneira, the next village awaits us: Bubión. Here I would like to tell you about the fundamental role that this area played in the past: wars between Muslims and Christians, forced conversions and a legacy that still lasts. In Bubión we can visit the “Museo Casa Alpujarreña” (entrance included) where we will visit a house that has changed little over the years, so we can understand much better how people lived in the Alpujarra.
Finally, we will finish our excursion in the highest village we visit, Capileria, at 1,436 metres above sea level, we will have a spectacular view of the valley, Sierra Nevada and even the Mediterranean Sea.
Lunch is not included. You will have the option to bring your own picnic or follow the recommendations I will give you to try the local gastronomy.
