Sichuan is known for being home to giant pandas in the wild, and there are two popular sights to help with research and breeding of these incredible mammals—Chengdu Panda Breeding Centre and Dujiangyan Giant Panda Centre.

Visit the baby garden, where you can see giant panda cubs born in summer, Then stop at the sub-adult garden, where the adolescent pandas hang out, and see the adult garden, which houses the giant pandas in all their full-grown glory. Take pictures of this endangered species eating bamboo, sleeping or frolicking about. Finally, visit the red panda section to see these small adorable animals and try to spot the sleeping red pandas stretched out on branches in the red panda garden.
