This one of those excursion that you have to go. It’s about a 45 minutes to an hour drive to the cave. Our driver Abner got us there pretty quickly and Naz our tour guide is very informative. Once you got there is a 25 minutes hike all the way to the top of the mountain entrance and the fun begins. The cave is magnificent and Naz & Abner guide us through the cave while you and your family relax and absorb the beauty that the cave has offer. I spotted a bat flying around the cave and while the water is called, you get used to it and after few minutes inside you don’t even feel the cold of the water. It becomes very refreshing. I opted not to take my phone and just enjoy the cave and when we exited the cave, you come through a forest green surrounding and a sound of birds all around you. At the Naz I jumped into that cold river flow and what a refreshing experience. I’ll do it again if get a chance to go back..

We loved the tubing experience!! Freddie (our guide) and Naz (our driver) were great!! We learned a lot about Belize while traveling to the tubing site; were provided with life vests, helmets, and headlamps, before getting into our tubes. We had a little walk thru the forest to get to our tubes, but there were things to see and learn about along the path. Once in the water, the tour just got better … floating on the river thru the underground caves was amazing!! We would recommend this tour to folks who are looking for a great day and a wonderful adventure. Thx Freddie and Naz!!

I suffered a life threatening anaphylactic allergic reaction from part of the begonia plant our tour guide broke off and told us to eat. My tongue and face instantly swelled, I had a severe rash on my back and chest and couldn’t breathe. The tour guides and supervisor Marcia refused to take me back to the ship where I knew I could get epinephrine. I finally convinced a tour person by offering her $50. I didn’t have cash on me and Marcia refused to pay for transport so we had to pull over so I could fill this girl’s gas tank. The ship’s doctor gave me a shot and high doses of Benadryl and steroids and I was fine. I honestly feel like this could have ended very tragically for me. I would book an excursion from the cruise and definitely wouldn’t touch or eat anything I didn’t know. Their guide gave us begonias to eat which from reading could be toxic and were extremely uncaring and flippant about my health. It was extremely scary!

This experience exceeded my expectations. Our guides Abner, Sharon, and Naz were a delight. We easily found the meeting spot after docking. The Beliz narration kept us entertained during the 45 minute drive to the tubing location. Unlike some of the other tours, our tubes were waiting for us by the river. We only had to carry the tubes back for a short two minute walk. The lunch was good and filling after an adventure down the river. Highlight was jumping off the rock into the crystal pool. Will definitely do again on a future trip! It was UnBelizable FUN!

First the walk to the caves is not super easy. So if you can't walk over 1.25 miles over rocks and roots do not pick this but if you can it is totally worth it. The optional walk in the Crystal Caves is also difficult but very cool. The rocks are slick and uneven and you are walking in water shoes so just a heads up. Guides Sharon and Alex were great. Also if you are on a cruise we got back with 15 mins or so to spare.
