Know before you book

  • Wheelchair can only be on a Request Basis. Operator does not guarantee the availability of wheelchairs.
  • A child passenger is defined as: aged 5 years to 11 years inclusive AND MUST be above 137cms. in height. (Any person 136cms. or younger no permitted, regardless of age, due to the height of the basket. No child 4 years or younger permitted. Only one child is permitted per one adult passenger.
  • Passengers over 75 years of age must produce a medical certificate advising fit for flight.
  • Balloons/baskets vary in size. Capacity is between 4-8 passengers. Maximum weight is 120 kilogrammes or 260 pounds. If above this, additional charge of 100percent payable at location. If total weight exceeds permissible weight for flight by law, no refund or alternative flight can be offered.
  • Operator is the only licensed Thai ballooning company for commercial flights in Thailand, has received approval for commercial flights and Standard Certification by the Department of Civil Aviation Thailand and therefore guarantees all appropriate safety standards are met.
  • All pilots are very experienced and fully licensed, having logged hundreds of hours flying passengers in hot air balloons.
  • The launch-pad in Amphur Doi Saket may need to be changed due to various factors, such as winds, etc., as instructed by the Chiang Mai airport tower.

Ballooning is one of the greatest activities in the world. The magical feeling to stepping into a wicker basket and allowing the hot air to glide you skyward just as the sun appears at the beginning of a new day is an exhilarating occurrence that is so incredibly peaceful and cathartic.

You will be picked up from your hotel in the Chiang Mai city area and driven the short distance to the launch pad. Here you can enjoy a welcome drink and watch the crew preparing the balloon for your unforgettable voyage.

Balloons normally begin to rise at around 6.40am. With the guidance of your experienced pilot, you will have panoramic views of the scenic Chiang Mai countryside as well as jaw-dropping cultural and historic sites.

Following a flight of about 45 minutes like no other, you will be treated to a breakfast of fresh fruits, hot coffee and tea as well as a traditional Champagne Celebration. After this you will be driven back to your Chiang Mai hotel, returning around mid-morning.
