"My stay at El Misti was superb!! I stayed in a private room during 7-13 November. It was my first time in Rio, and this was the perfect place to meet people!! They organise lots of events, and having easy access to the beach with a ticket for a free chair is an addes bonus! I can definitely recommend El Misti to others, and will likely stay here (or at least visit the amazing bar during happy hour!!) when I return, muito obrigado El Misti!! Tom"

"Poor experience given the price paid which was $30 per night for a dormitory. The breakfast buffet is minimal and dissolved quickly by people who literally thrust it into their bags without any oversight, and from thereon it isn't replenished correctly for all the other guests.The guy responsible for making the breakfast was super rude too. "Staff were amazing! Helpful and friendly. Can arrange airport transfer for you. They all spoke English very well. There is a common area downstairs with a bar and free filtered water and lots of plugs to charge your electronics. The bunk beds were a little scary, very unstable. You only get two sheets and a pillow case so if you get a free blanket on your airline keep it! There is one plug in each bed spot. Rooms are air conditioned. It was a little expensive for a shared room with bunk beds but...

"All things considered, this is a really good hostel. I mean, first of all it's really cheap. You can easily get a bed for 6 quids. Sure you have to pay for other things like towels or padlocks but they are also really cheap. Drinks are pretty good also. I was surprised that I had AC on the room, most hostels in Brazil don't have them. And this is very important because it's really hot in Rio. You wouldn't believe how hot it gets, even at night.
