For a romantic getaway or just a place to come back to after a long day of beach activities, this recently renovated, dog-friendly Waldport vacation rental will suit your needs! As with all of our Waldport Cape Cod units, the highlight of this vacation rental is the wall of windows overlooking the ocean. This particular unit is a ground-level unit, making it cooler and a little shadier—perfect for really hot days on the Oregon Coast. Outside your door are two lawn chairs perfect for sipping wine and storm watching. The open floor plan and wood-paneled walls make the unit a perfect place to nest after your long day of beach adventures. There is a flatscreen TV with cable in the corner, right next to the gas fireplace for warmth on the chillier nights. For the nights you don't feel like leaving your beach cottage, there is a one-wall kitchen with all the basics for making simple, homemade meals perfect for breakfast, snack time, or romantic dinners. This rental sleeps four (and two dogs, with a small nightly fee) comfortably with the pull-out sleeper sofa, and is a great rental for visiting with the grandparents!

Beach and location amazing. Property BAD
No shower head. The bathroom has a strange smell like something is dead. Advertised WiFi, none the whole time. When I called the 800 number they gave me a name that didn’t come up and I couldn’t manually input. Then they stop communicating all together!!!! Was able to get on phone only when I stood in the parking lot.The beach and location of the cottages was amazing. Easy access.

Took an hour to get door open. Outside light didn’t work. WiFi didn’t work, enter net did not work, and the TV didn’t work. Contacted Vacasa said a person to help was on the way, they never showed up. Do not rent this dump! Don

Beautiful location, but disappointing otherwise
The beach really couldn't be closer, which is a huge perk of this location. It was mostly empty, too, which was nice. Unfortunately, I ran into several problems. First and foremost, there was very little cell service (which was not noted in the listing), and I came to find that the wifi only worked in the bedroom and closet, not the main living areas. This was very problematic for me, as I was counting on reliable wifi to work remotely. I never found the router, so I suspect that my unit was sharing wifi with another. To that point, the tv that was advertised in the listing as having cable did not in fact have cable (it wasn't even hooked up to a cable box or anything of the sort, only plugged into an electrical outlet) and because there was no wifi available in the living area, other apps on the "smart" tv (e.g., Netflix, Prime, etc.) were useless. I spent way too much time trying to figure out how to operate the gas fireplace, since there is no helpful hints provided in a notebook as I've seen at almost all other rental locations. During my search for a fireplace remote/switch, I began to realize that the unit had only undergone a surface cleaning. The CO detector is also installed near the floor, rendering it essentially useless. And the number Vacasa (property manager) provided to text with any issues was unfortunately not responsive until it was too late.

Amazing view and property but...
The property was amazing and exactly what we expected but we stayed in a ground level cottage and the people above us were so loud we didn't sleep almost at all. We had no way of communicating with someone about the noise level so it was a little damper on an otherwise amazing place.

Great beach access and location, but . . .
We stayed in room number eight which is below room number one and you can hear everything that is going on in room number one. Room One can accommodate as many as 15 people and it is extremely noisy to sleep underneath. We would not stay here again for that reason. Room eight is nicely spacious and basically comfortable but the evidence of dog hair and dogs smears on the interior slider was not clean when we arrived, without pets. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were very fresh and clean, however. But in the bedroom there is a hole in one wall that surprised us that had not been repaired before our arrival. The grounds are a bit shabby and overgrown, which is unfortunate because it’s basically a cute place and would only take raking and sweeping to clean up a lot of it. Access to the beach is simple and easy through a pathway and short staircase. Beautiful wide, sandy beach.

Anniversary Weekend
Overall the place was as expected for a dog-friendly facility. In the listing, it did state that there is a unit above so there might be a bit of noise but do you tell the unit above that there is someone below? We experienced extreme party noise until about 3 am! And the next day someone washing things off on the deck which falls through to the patio below (us) We were able to speak with someone at that time and they said they didn't even know there was a unit below! We had trouble finding unit 8 because you can't see it from the parking lot, so some signage would be helpful. Also, the bedroom window did not lock so we had to find a stick to put in the track. The place could use some more ice trays and it would be helpful if you stated in the listing that there are O spices/oil/condiments of any kind available! The unit itself was clean and very equipped with cooking supplies (pots/pans/utensils) and the bed was comfortable. Unit 8 was by far the best for our dog being ground level with a small yard, facing the ocean and a short trail to the beach. We will come again, thanks!

Overall it was great
The view was spectacular. It was very clean, the plates in the cabinet were very wet. The instructions to get to were we needed to park were very unclear. I tried to call but the phone service was not good there, highly recommend having your Wi-fi calling on. I sent a message too and did not get a response. My husband walked around and we figured it out. We could not get the TV to work and there were no instruction to help. We had another guest in a different room who was having the same problem. Other than that our stay was great.

Overall I really liked it and would stay there again!
There was a bit of dog hair that I noticed when we got there but we have animals so we know how that is. The unit is quaint and cozy, quick and easy beach access. The fireplace was nice and we really liked that it is pet friendly! A bit small for 4 people and pet(s) but we enjoyed ourselves. It is very close to town and not a crowded beach which was a great thing for us. The fact that there is a place to do laundry is good as well as the rec room. If you aren't a fan of hearing people and or their kids or pets moving or making noise above you, and you don't like doing dishes by hand, then maybe not the best option for you. It had many of the commonly used kitchen items and we were able to cook and prepare many meals without problems. 😊 Overall I really liked it and would stay there again!

Beautiful Beach, Fishy Smell
We enjoyed our stay, the access to the beach was wonderful. The beach wasn't crowded and was beautiful. The only down side was that it smelled strongly like fish when we got there. Also, it was hard to find the unit as it's on the bottom floor and not visible when you first pull into the parking lot (you have to drive down and around to the other side of the building. Loved being able to do my laundry and play some ping pong with my boys!

Perfect but for the constant pitter patter of feet
As has been noted by other guests, this is a beautifully appointed unit in a great location that is diminished only by noise from the upstairs unit. The upstairs guests during our stay must have had quite a few young children. I can tolerate quite a bit, but the constant running back and forth at midnight crossed the line of what I can accept. We were able to contact Vacasa customer service, who texted our upstairs neighbors to let them know about the complaint. Fortunately, things did calm down after that. I would respectfully suggest that given the multiple reviews mentioning the noise problem that it might worthwhile to put a plaque or a sign in the upstairs unit reminding those who stay there to be good neighbors and try to walk lightly during quiet hours.

The number 8 unit was very nicely remodeled. It was clean and very quiet except for some noise from the above tenants. However, the above tenants were both very nice and tried to be quiet. No noise from road traffic at all. The beach access was very nice and the beach was not populated. The TV and internet service was not good and was interrupted daily. It needs improvement.

Had a wonderful stay. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable, the beach is right outside the door and is nice and sparse. The dogs loved running on it. The room had everything we needed and was beautifully appointed.

Relaxing beachfront stay.
I love opening the curtains and watching the surf crash in. The cottage was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. By far one of the best stays we’ve had! We will absolutely stay here again!

Beware of upper level guests
We checked in on a Monday. Our condo was, beautiful and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking needs. I was also trying to work from our condo and being in a basement I was having WIFI connection issues a lot. By Wednesday night the WIFI and all connections went out all together. Our last night there we got back to the condo around 9pm from dinner and there was a full on rave/dance party above us. We could hear the music clearly into the bedroom and a lot of dancing-stomping on the floor above until 3am. What was a wonderful vacation turned into a sleepless nightmare. After that experience I would recommend the upper level condos. Definitely not #8.

It isn't easy to find "pet friendly" places to stay and we really appreciated they allowed 2 dogs. The ocean view from Cape Cod Cottages is great and there is easy access to the beach. The staff we talked with were very friendly. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is because they are remodeling and there were ditches to avoid and hammering to contend with. We could tell that when they are finished with the remodel the units will be larger and really nice. Right now the units are in need of upgrading but then, there goes the price right? :-) We had reason to move from one unit to another in our two week stay and the first unit was very clean, the second less so, but I think it had been empty and used as a break room for the remodeling crew. All in all we would return again after the remodel is finished. Thank you for being a pet friendly location.

Great view, nice place
We enjoyed our stay here. The place was tidy when we arrived and it was an easy walk down to the beach. The place was close to Yachats and Newport both towns that are fun to visit on the coast- Waldport is a cute town too! I had read in some of the reviews before booking that the floors were gross or something but other than the linoleum being old and a bit scuffy it was totally fine. I'm glad I didn't let that review sway my decision to book it. The baseboard heater is older and it made a somewhat loud clacking noise when it was on, so if someone if sensitive to noises or a light sleeper coming here in the colder months might not be ideal. There was also a leak around the seal of the front windows, so that when it rained really hard a small puddle of water collected on the bottom ledge of the bay window. But overall the proximity to the ocean was super nice and Big Stump beach was lovely. I would certainly stay here again.
