The cabin itself was okay, except for the terrible arrangement for tv viewing and the lack of privacy for the "private" hot tub. 10 minutes after our arrival, I received multiple, painful fire ant bites while standing by the fire pit for just a few seconds. When told of this, Bryan's wife said there as a bag of ant killer hidden behind a sign on the porch. So, they were quite aware of the infestation. I discovered there was less than a cup of ant killer left in the bag, which was nowhere near enough to treat the several large nests in the creekside area and by the porch steps. I requested more ant killer and was assured the "team" would contact me shortly. 24 hours passed, with no response from Bryan or his wife. I complained about this, which finally did get a reply from Bryan's wife. It was patronizing and rude: "[A]s I told you before this is part of the seasons here and nature which is why I left the bag behind the sign and told you of it." That would be the hidden, almost-empty bag? The one she DIDN'T tell us about until after I had been bitten? It's obvious that the owner (who even told us in her 1st response that you treat one nest and two more pop up) was just hoping we wouldn't notice the fire ants. When she and Bryan finally showed up, they stomped around, scowls on their faces, threw down the ant killer and left without a word. The space here is too limited to give all the details, but these are the worst hosts we have ever encountered.
