We are following all of the rules, regulations and have adopted Updated cleaning procedures on a daily basis at Casa Amarilla.

Escape to the privacy of your own beach front villa in a tropical paradise on the Pacific Ocean. This ideally located villa is situated on the beach in a small fishing village where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets over the Pacific. Each morning you may experience our natural alarm clock - the Scarlet Macaws as they fly in to feed off our almond trees. Cool off in our private pool surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. Go for long walks on the beach, stopping for lunch or a thirst quenching drink at one of the local restaurants. Buy fish from our local fishermen and cook your own food on the barbeque. Finally after a long day relax on the front porch, sea wall or under the rancho to watch the spectacular sunsets light up the ocean.

We are centrally located on the fringe of a small fishing village on the Pacific coast within easy driving distance of ecoparks, volcanoes, and many other places of interest. Jaco Beach a tourist and surfing town with good restaurants, souvenir shops and miles long beach is only 20 minutes away.

INTERIOR DESCRIPTION: A three-bedroom bungalow, relaxing living room with Cable tv , lovely fully equipped kitchen with dinning area. There are plenty of pots, pans, dishes, beach towels etc.

Extra Services: An English speaking Property Manager is available to assist you with car rentals, tour arrangements, pick up from and back to the airport and housekeeping or maid services optional .

A éviter.. infester de fourmis et incapable de se faire rembourser
Nous avions réservé cette maison sachant qu’elle serait de base et non luxueuse mais impossible d’y rester avec une famille.. Il y avait des fourmis partout.. sur les murs, dans les armoires de cuisine, sur le comptoir, c’était impossible de cuisiner ni de s’asseoir tout simplement. Pour les enfants, c’était affreux.. pour nous aussi! Nous avons contacté la gestionnaire et elle est venue à la propriété. Elle proposait de faire fumiger mais avec des enfants on ne pouvait pas dormir là alors elle nous a assuré que nous aurions un remboursement. Nous sommes donc repartis après avoir trouvé un autre logement. Par la suite, elle nous a réassuré que nous recevrions les sous mais avant d’avoir reçu quoique ce soit, nous n’arrivons plus à la joindre et nous n’avons toujours pas de remboursement même plus de 3 mois plus tard.. elle nous a bien floués. Ne louez pas cette maison malheureusement..

You can't go wrong for the price on this one.
If you want space, and being literally on the beach, you should not hesitate to stay at this property. If you are a perfectionist, you still may want to stay here because the cost is excellent for a place on the beach. The high tide literally came within a couple of feet of the property wall. The grounds and home were very relaxing. Patris did respond very well to all of our questions and gave good advice and directions to accomplish what we desired. If I did not desire a variety in locations, I would absolutely stay here again and may very well do so in the future anyway. Thank you Patri

good times at Tarcoles
Patri is a good host, she cares. This place is the real deal if you are looking for an authentic CR experience. It's an older property but it's being maintained and clean. spectacular sunsets. good swimming and beach walking right in front of you. also beach bars/restaurants all in easy walking distance. only negative for us was the highway noise, it's a busy highway with a lot of truck noise.but it didn't diminish the experience really. A cat lives on the property but he's no bother and you'll get visits from chickens and dogs but all freindly.

Beautiful. peaceful place for a great vacation
Casa Amarillo is a small beach cottage with a beautiful garden and direct ocean views from the home, the patio garden and the small plunge pool. We loved falling asleep every night and waking every morning to the sounds of the surf. Scarlet macaws visited the property's almond trees everyday. Jarra, the caretaker cut open coconuts for us. And we were able to buy fresh caught fish directly from fishermen. The inside furnishings and fixtures are pretty basic, but it's functional, comfortable and has everything you really need. Patri the property manager is quick to respond to any problems. The location, while beautiful, is not convenient to shopping or restaurants. There are two restaurants within walking distance on the beach. La Fiesta Del Marisco was especially good. Beyond those two, you will need a car or a driver. I highly recommend a driver Patri put me in touch with, Gilberth Montero, who not only provided us with transportation but also helped us plan and book tours and activities that really made our vacation special. I would love to stay here again and would recommend Casa Amarilla to anyone visiting this area of Costa Rica.

Casa Amarilla is a beautiful house on the beach. Difficult to find - don't miss that small drive down to all the houses. There are about 6 or 7 next to each other on the beach. Most are empty so it is quiet and relaxing...until the weekenders arrive with their loud music and large families. The host, Patricia, is wonderful and anticipates all you need for a vacay at the beach. Sunsets are gorgeous, the pool cool and refreshing, even a "resident" cat who just wants to be loved. A/C in the bedrooms is refreshing after a long day in the sun. The kitchen is well equipped, lots of towels for the house and the lounge chairs. Jarra comes by every other day or so to clean the pool, check on guests, help you practice your spanish. Lots of dogs in the neighborhood.

Our vacation at Casa Amarilla was fantastic. The house has all the comfort you could wish for. The location right by the sea is breathtaking. The jungle begins directly behind the house. Pure nature! The pool is perfect for cooling off and is looked after and cleaned daily by a very friendly local. Many thanks Jarra! We were able to relax very well and will definitely be back.

Beautiful location
Was as advertised and pictures are accurate but don’t do it justice. Absolutely loved this stay. The property manager Patricia was prompt to answer any questions, helped us with tours and was a super friendly person. The yard person Jarra was outstanding with his knowledge of area, history, flora and fauna…and kept the pool pristine! There were daily visits from chickens, birds and friendly dogs. The view was amazing and the yard and garden beautiful and private. Would highly recommend.

Lovely home on the water
This home, right on the water, is beautifully and unpretentiously designed for a comfortable, aesthetic, sensuous experience. The garden has several outdoor garden spaces for socializing while looking at the ocean and seated midst well maintained tropical flowers and trees. The sun shifts and the shade in different garden spots is welcome because temperatures in early March are hot! The small plunge pool is a delight for cooling down, also while watching sunset and moonrise over the sea. The Pacific itself, right in front of the house, is warm and gentle. The beach is rocky but the rocks are gorgeous with interesting markings. They thin out and the beach is sandy as you come to ocean itself; also you can walk in either direction along the beach, to Tarcoles to the right and to a sandier beach on the left. Two national parks and Jaco are short drives. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds in the three bedrooms are comfortable. Patricia, the house manager, is wonderful. I had an accident while there and she went to extraordinary lengths to get me the medical care I needed. We also enjoyed Jarre who works in the garden and with the pool, a lovely man who showed us how to harvest cocoa beans from his plants and brew cocoa from them. This house has the best possible review from us and we're planning a family reunion there.

the real Costa Rica
A little tricky to find the turnoff but young, sharp eyes saw it. Jarra, the groundskeeper met us on the road and guided us to the house. The house is comfortable. Well equipped kitchen with some cooking essentials on hand (salt, oil). Beds comfortable if you like them hardish. Location is exceptional. Fishermen on the beach daily, unloading huge fish almost nightly. Jarra acquired some which he shared with us (vela). Close to the Croc Bridge and Carara Pk. Jarra was around daily and the family enjoyed his lessons in Spanish, how to open and drink a coconut, etc. etc. Very happy, generous man to add to our experience. The trucks engine braking all day and even night were loud and a little much but the 6 of us all decided the beauty of the rest of it outweighed the noise. Manager stopped by for a nice visit and more lessons.

Nous arrivons d’un séjour de 10 jours. Casa Amarilla est une maison costaricaine, 3 chambres et 2 salle de bain. C’était amplement pour notre groupe de 5 personnes (4 adultes et 1 adolescent de 14 ans). Il y a eu de petits désagréments mais ça ne m’a pas empêché de passer de belles vacances. POINTS FORTS: Patri est une EXCELLENTE manager. C’est une femme extraordinaire qui a le soucis du bien-être des vacanciers. Nous communiquons avec elle par Messenger puisque nous avions le wifi à la maison (qui fonctionnait peut-être même trop bien pour mon ado 😂). Patri est TRÈS proactive. Nous avons eu des difficultés avec l’air climatisé et le robinet de cuisine et dès qu’elle a été mise au courant, elle venait dès le lendemain avec un réparateur (même le dimanche de Noël!!!) pour venir voir le problème. Pour ce qui est de son service, Patri vaut un 10 étoiles ⭐️!! Si je pouvais l’amener comme manager partout où je vais en vacances, je le ferais!! Elle nous a donner des bons conseils. Ensuite, la vue. LA VUE 🤩🤩!! C’est vraiment beau. Le couché du soleil au son des vagues en étant assis dans la cour…c’était magnifique. Les aras rouges viennent déjeuner le matin dans les amandiers. Ça ajoute un côté extraordinaire de les voir arriver. Ils sont curieux, ils nous regardent en cueillant leurs amandes, un matin ils sont descendus quand même assez bas…on a pu prendre de très belles photos. Le peuple est très gentil, poli, respectueux envers nous. Facile d’avoir accès à un taxi. Patri peut nous organisés des transports. Ensuite les chauffeurs nous laisse une carte d’affaire alors on peut communiquer directement avec eux par Whatsapp. ILS SONT TRÈS PONCTUELS!! Soyez prêts 2-3 minutes avant l’heure parce qu’ils sont là! Jaco est à 20 minutes de voiture. POINTS FAIBLES: -La plage a BEAUCOUP de roches. Ça prend absolument des souliers d’eau pour marcher. -C’est vrai que la maison est à quelques mètres de la route principale. Alors on entend beaucoup les camions. Comme c’est dans les montagnes et les courbes, ils mettent leurs freins moteurs. Très bruyant. -La maison est dans une parcelle de terre entre la mer et la route et dans un genre de cul-de-sac. On ne peut pas marcher dans le quartier. Pour aller à Tarcoles même, on peut prendre par la plage et couper par la rivière (c’est une très bonne marche) ou prendre le taxi pour nous amener faire les commissions. En résumé, j’ai eu des belles vacances. Le Costa Rica est à découvrir!

The perfect place to unplug and relax. Three bedrooms suitable for a larger group or just for two. Excellent restaurants nearby or you can travel south to to Playa Herradura of Jaco for entertainment and shopping. Definitely eat at LA Ostra, the food and drinks are the best!!

A spacious cottage with fabulous view of the Ocean
We enjoyed our stay at Casa Amarilis particularly the wonderful view of the ocean and the constant company of the beautiful but noisy Macaws. There was more than enough room for the two of us and we felt totally safe and relaxed. The place does need a little bit of tender loving care especially the algae on the slippery bricks around the plunge pool. A car is a must as it’s a little way from the village and restaurants. Tarcoles is a fishing village and functions as such so no bright lights and discos to be had here. We would happily stay again.

Great Costa Rica Experience
The property manager, Patri, was just amazing at helping us with everything! She set us up with a car rental, driver to and from the airport, and graciously stepped in to help when my 70yr old mother had an accident and needed to go to a private clinic for medical help! I loved the house, location, even the neighbors were super friendly and lovely. That being said, this isn’t a resort neighborhood- it’s a neighborhood with chickens and dogs running around. The perfect experience for my family who used to live in Central America.

Home away from home
Casa Armilla was a perfect spot for our stay in Costa Rica. We spent mornings having coffee by the pool then walking on the beach before breakfast. Evenings were spent the same way. The AC in the bedrooms worked. The kitchen was well stocked, including grilling items. Patri, the manager, was the best thing about staying here. She was available for questions, assisted in arranging car rental (which I highly recommend), and other local experiences. We had a blast.

There is not a lot to do there unless you have a car, so I would recommend definitely getting one. We did not, and that caused us some issues because we had 4 teenagers with us, and they were a bit bored. My husband and I enjoyed just relaxing outside by the pool and enjoying the amazing views.

About what was expected.
Overall property was fine. It's an older home so you get everything that comes along with that which was expected. Our only complaints is the main highway is about 100' feet behind the property and is on a grade so the big rigs often use their very loud Jake Brakes, day and night. Also, the house immediately next store is a rental and had very loud music until 3 AM one night. Other than that everything was as expected.

Privacy that we needed
The outdoor living space was phenomenal. We spent a week enjoying the private pool, covered gazeboo, and semi-private beach. There is also an outdoor shower to ensure you don't track sand into the house. The house provided just what we needed. The in-room air conditioners worked well, the kitchen allowed us to cook meals when we wanted to stay in for the night. The washer worked well enough but note there isn't a dryer available however, there are plenty of clotheslines in the backyard to dry your clothes. Costa Rica was beautiful and the views from the property were incredible. This house is a great choice for any couple or a few friends traveling together.

beautiful sunsets on the beach
We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The best part was the sunsets on the beach. The house is well equipped. The location was great being close to San Jose. Its a fishing town, so make sure to buy some fish. Joe's Crocodile tour was entertaining, we hiked Carara Park and saw monkeys, macaws, caimen, lots of birds. Find Playa Blanca, its a beautiful white sand beach about 15 min drive. Pura Vida

Authentic Costa Rican vacation
My family had a great time in Tarcoles. Patri was extremely helpful, hospitable and patient with our many questions. We cannot thank her enough for all the help with groceries, finding a rental car and arranging rides to and from the airport .Jarrar, the neighbor who helps take care of the pool, became our family friend and showed us some fabulous hikes/waterfalls that were hidden gems. The little yellow house has beautiful gardens and great outdoor space to eat, play games or watch the sunset. It was in a convenient location along a less populated beach and close to many places including hikes, Carrara National park and Jaco. .If you want an authentic affordable Costa Rican experience, I highly recommend Casa Amarillo.

Casa Amarilla
This property was an experience from the moment we entered Costa Rica. We fell asleep and awoke to the sounds of the ocean and all the ornithology all around. We were feet from the ocean from the backyard of our property. We had daily access to the water without fighting for beach space.

Wonderful location!
