This private villa in Playa Hermosa is a retreat within the four-star rated Villas Sol Hotel and Beach Resort! Conveniently located 14 miles from the Liberia International airport and a short walk to the beach!

THE PROPERTY. This newly remodeled Costa Rican villa offers stunning views of Playa Hermosa from a hillside, secluded terrace. A terrace with a splash pool! Inside, the villa’s vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and wall-to-wall glass sliding doors provide a light & bright feel, that provides an open floor plan between the outdoor and indoor living spaces. This fully furnished villa has amenities that include air conditioning in each room, WiFi, satellite TVs, washer/dryer, a stocked kitchen, and an outdoor shower. Guest parking is nearly adjacent to the villa, located within this gated community. Welcome to Villa #45!

VILLAS SOL HOTEL & BEACH RESORT
Guests can enjoy Villas Sol's Resort amenities free of charge, which includes: two pools with scheduled guest activities such as pool volleyball; a jacuzzi and game center; shuttle services; and access to Villas Sol's ocean-view restaurants & bars, mini-markets, equipment rental and spa services. **Villas Sol is a gated community with 24/7 security. Beach access from the villa is located entirely within this secured area, as is guest parking!

SHUTTLE SERVICES
Everything you may need is within walking distance of the villa, but for ease, take advantage of the resort’s shuttle service! The shuttle runs from 6 AM to 12 AM daily, with pick-up about every 15 minutes, to get around the resort and to Hermosa beach. The resort also provides shuttle to Playa del Coco for a small charge.

ALL-INCLUSIVE OPTION
For days when you'd like to stay close to the villa and take-in all the resort has to offer, Villas Sol offers a $55.00/day all-inclusive option, which allows you to enjoy all of your meals at the restaurant and snack bar, as well as adult beverages by the pool: all-inclusive!

Endroit propre et calme, sécuritaire, bien situé, cuisine bien équipée, chaises longues disponibles, jouets pour enfants pour la plage, petit spa sympathique avec la terrasse c’est wow! Hamac en plus. Le propriétaire nous a bien conseillés pour nos activités. Bon service.

Rustic Villa with a View
The owner is very nice and communicates quickly. We had a family of 6, w/ a 2yr old. Check in was easy & upon arrival, we were happy with what we saw. I'm easy going & find the treasure in things. If you're pretentious, maybe stay at a Ritz. You have to remember where you are. Life is simple & you are visiting amongst wildlife. Racoons, skunks, squirrels, and rats like to party all night. If you sleep lightly, bring earplugs. We had all the amenities we needed to enjoy ourselves. The Villa was clean, had plenty of room for our family, & was equipped with plenty of cooking supplies, beach accessories, & a sunset that was great for cocktail hour (buy booz @ Luperon). Did all inclusive for a day, but we found we cook WAY better. Do take a minute for a cup of coffee or a cocktail at the restaurant, though, because the view is fantastic. Eating out is also pricey, so if you can cook at the Villa, you're ahead of the gang. We enjoyed cooking together & relaxing at the Villa after a day of adventuring. Luperon is less than 5 minutes away and has plenty. Oh, and the pool at the Villa was awesome. It was maintained almost daily. Loved that! Didn't spend much time at the resort pools because, heck, we were in Costa Rica! It was all about the beaches! The Villa was equipped w/ refreshing air conditioning, wifi, big TV in the family room (great for 2yr old). Beds were comfortable & bathrooms were clean. Might need a run to the store for more TP. Be patient w/ water pressure.

Accommodated our group easily. Washer and dryer were handy. Close to pool/bar. Patio pool is nice also. Availability of soft coolers, beach chairs, towels etc were great to have and use. Air conditioners easily up to the task. Chris was prompt to respond to any text from me. Would gladly stay again.

We enjoyed our stay! Chris is an amazing host. If issues arise, Chris and his team are quick to address The villa is clean, beds are comfortable, and there are amazing sheets and towels! There are also beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and toys. The location is great! You have a view of the sunset over the water each evening and are walking distance to several restaurants and services. There is also a shuttle that will take you to the beach. If you want to relax, this is the place to be!

Wonderful Property
Our group of 6 stayed 6 nights and had a wonderful time. The villa has everything you need and the private plunge pool makes it very special. The kitchen has all the pots, pans & dishes you will ever need and the Villa has lots of towels for bath, pool and beach. The washer and dryer was very useful. Each room has its own air conditioning so it was easy to keep everyone comfortable and shut rooms off when not in use. The resort has a great shuttle system that makes it easy and quick to get to the beach and if you prefer to walk, it’s not that far. The resort pool is also a very short stroll away and is large with its own bar with meals available. There is a small grocery store just a short dive away and a larger grocery store down the main road a bit. We alternated cooking in and dining out. Dining out was an easy shuttle ride to the beach where there are multiple restaurant options just a short walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this villa to anyone.

Overall the location was good as was the house. However it took an hour and multiple calls and text messages to get the code to enter the property. This was problematic after a long day of travel. Additionally this property limits guests to 4 rolls of toilet paper which is just ridiculous especially when we didn't even get 4 full rolls, there are no kleenexes, etc. I have never stayed anywhere with a limitation on toilet paper. When I reached out the owner was flipant and rude - while he later kinda apologized it was enough to leave a bad impression. We do not plan on staying there again.

Perfect Place!!
We stayed here for 3 days to start off our trip to Costa Rica and we loved it! Super convenient to the beach and very nice to have access to the resort amenities (pools, bars, restaurants, shuttles, etc.) The villa was very clean and well stocked with plenty of towels and linens, kitchen utensils, and they even had oil and seasonings which I find so often rentals lack. Hope to come back!

Beautiful Villa, Great Location!
My wife and I were fortunate to book a stay in early December. The villa is in a nearly ideal location inside a gated community with community beach shuttles circling every 15 minutes or so. Villa itself is very comfortable, clean and with a beautiful porch and plunge pool. Owner provided spot on recommendations for restaurants and beaches and was very responsive to any questions we had. We will look to book again when we return to CR.

A Week Of Fun
We spent a week in this lovely townhome at Villas Sol, and had a great time! The property itself was as advertised - three great bedrooms (which worked perfectly for our two adult kids) and a big common area. The splash pool outside was a great way to cool down to acclimatize to the hot weather, because it turns out that Costa Rica is pretty close to the equator, and it's hot out in August. We used the kitchen a bunch, as well as the grill. And also the in-unit laundry, which worked great. The split A/C units were very effective, and we slept like babies. We were surprised that the sun went down so early. Villas Sol (VS), the resort where the property is located, offers shuttles that run constantly down to the reception area, and then to main hotel, and to the beach. From the main hotel it's a short walk to the wet bar. Otherwise from the reception area it's an easy three hundred yards down to the beach, but it's a rough three hundred yards uphill back to the reception area. We got stronger. We took full advantage of the Swiss Tours concierge to set up tours and diving.

I cannot recommend this property enough. First, the communication that Chris (owner) provided before and during the vacation, was without a doubt, the tone-setter for our vacation. The attention to detail that was given, made our stay comfortable! It was professional and personal...thank you! The location is great, the people are fabulous, and the house is welcoming, warm, relaxing, well stocked for all of your stays needs, be it in the kitchen, for your outings, at the pool, etc. Good and reliable wifi, cable tv, DVDs, games, etc. I even got a kick out of the "bandits" (raccoons) that would visit the patio each evening...hilarious! The beach is amazing with some great restaurants and activities. An easy walk to the grocery stores outside of the resort, if needed. There are hills to walk, but nothing too bad if you don't want to wait for the shuttles. This house is top-notch. Can't say enough about Chris. He will, go out of his way to provide you resources or information needed. We will be back! Pura Vida!

The house is in bad shape. The kitchen has loose cabinets doors, on the secondary bathroom the wc lid is broken, the shower does not have showerhead, the towels are very very very used and wear. We did not have soap, dish detergent (how they clean the dishes prior we arrived?? :( uggg) The washer and dryer is not working and we can’t dry towels nor anything We’ve contacted the owner several times about the problems, but He has not answer on time. And gave totally wrong answers about the problems, and he did not fix anything to make our stay more enjoyable.

Everything we were wishing for
We had an amazing stay. House was very comfortable fir our family - four adults and two kids. Kitchen and living room open area were great for gathering. Each room has its own A/C. We appreciated and used all the beach stuff Chris has available for guests - chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, beach balls, coolers. We even used the resort amenities - pools and games - when we were not at the beach. Main restaurant and bar has a great view of the bay and the sunset! Chris was a great host, available to help with anything and very flexible. He takes good care of the place and has some small upgrades planned. I definitely recommend.

A great month in a great location
Our stay was a wonderful experience due in large part to our accommodation. The high light of this villa is undoubtedly the lanai/patio/deck space with its’ lovely and necessary splash pool. The Villa was well equipped to handle our group which ranged over the month from two to nine (three grandkids under six) with room and amenities for all. The beach is an eight minute walk away (10 minutes uphill on the return) and the Villas’ pool a short block away. Without a car we walked often to the Super Luperon about three quarters of a mile away which was somewhat randomly stocked but met all our needs. From what we saw of other properties this Villa has a perfect location,. The sunsets were magical and the fact that we could have shade during the heat of the day was appreciated Chris is a great host and very quick to respond to inquiries. The one negative relates to the Villas Sol trolly system. Our experience found the rides non existent after six pm, we walked back from every dinner at the beachfront restaurants.

Perfect Winter Getaway
Three weeks in paradise to escape winter! Villa was perfect for our group. We particularly loved the terrace with the splash pool and the beautiful views when we hung out later in the day to cool off before dinner. The kitchen and outside grill had everything we needed to prepare meals when not going out to eat. Mini marts in the area for some staples but we headed to Coco Beach to the larger grocery store twice to stock up since we were there for awhile. The beach has a really nice laid back vibe that we appreciated. There are some really good restaurants on the beach that we frequented as well as Gingers tapas just outside the main gate. The owner Chris and his property manager Bill were very attentive and easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. Pura Vida!

Great spot in beautiful Playa Hermosa!
This is a beautiful property in a lovely resort. We stayed with another couple and it was great. The kitchen was well equipped and great to have two bathrooms. Lovely pool on deck to cool off in. Senor Bill, the property manager picked us up at the airport for a very reasonable price which was wonderful. Chris, the owner was very responsive. The resort is hilly which helped with our overindulgence on vacation 😉 but there is a regular shuttle to the beach and restaurant. It is only an 8 minute walk to the beach though. Did not experience any of the delays discussed in other reviews. Wonderful restaurants available on the beach and in Playa Hermosa- loved Roberto’s for breakfast, Casita del Marisco and Pescado Loco and Ginger’s. Recommend this spot!

Very disappointed. Air conditioning remote without batteries. Bathroom toilet leaking with towel on floor to collect water. Several lights not working. Kitchen ceiling fan and lights not working. Had to replace water heater fuse. No dishwasher. Cabinets dirty. No instructions provided on how to operate patio fan and lights. Hole in ceiling over splash pool and broken tiles left on patio floor. Poorl furnished. Drab paint job, probably the original from 30 years ago. Etc, etc. Outside landscape looked like homeless camp.

For the price it’s a good value The property needs some TLC the grill needs to be replaced could not use missing parts could use all new pots and pans useable but old Needs some paint all around and a good cleaning. Water pressure in MBR shower was terrible. The door that you enter the unit has a big gap in between the pains probably lets heat in and AC out Location was prime and the unit is very large. pool was nice to have and getting around the property was easy Check in was easy also I would recommend this villa to people. Playa Hermosa just ok...
We have traveled to Costa Rica in the past and had a wonderful time. This was our first stay at Playa Hermosa and Chris’ home. We arranged for Senior Bill, his friend and contact for the property, to shuttle us from the airport. Once to the property, we had to “check-in” again through the resort reception. After doing so we made it to the home, unloaded and of course everyone needed to use the restroom. There was half a roll of toilet paper in one bathroom. After shuffling the partial roll between baths for our family of four to use the restroom, we explored the complex. Upon check in we were told there was a shuttle that would take us to and from the beach. Know the walk was roughly 10 minutes with several hills—it’s a nice workout! The first night we waited for the bus to pick us up—it never came. Apparently there are several resort complexes in the same area; the Villa Sol transport doesn’t run as frequently as the others. Thus we hiked home. This happened over and over to and from the beach over the next THREE days. On the fourth day, my husband finally had to complain to the reception desk to which they responded “...we know it’s a problem, I’ll let them know.” Finally, and sadly, the transport started running to Villa Sol from the beach on our fourth day. The house was okay, it appeared no one had stayed in the home for sometime, all the dishes, utensils, pots, etc had to be rewashed to use, no paper towels, no garbage bags, etc. make sure you stop at a mini mart to stock up on these items! On our final night, a heavy rain storm occurred. The back two bedrooms walls and floors flooded soaking our children’s bags, clothes, and anything on the floor. We were thankful for the washer and dryer as several loads of laundry had to be completed in order to pack and leave the next morning. Overall, Chris and Bill are kind people and we enjoyed the location of the property but there were a lot of inconveniences, inadequacies, and lack of attention to detail with this property, especially at this price point. I would recommend looking around at other properties if staying in this area.

What a wonderful way to conclude our 15 day trip by staying in this perfect 3 bedroom Villa for 7 nights. It's been 20 years since my last visit. I had to reschedule my trip twice and Chris was very accommodating and flexible with me. I spent the first week hopping around cities visiting family and showing my own family the beauty of Costa Rica. We decided to treat my mom and two cousins to stay with us for the last week in Playa Hermosa. Chris's home has space to move around, everything you need to cook and do laundry, and have quiet time. I'm not a big TV person, but my cousin was able to get the cable on and the youngsters enjoyed the large TV and playing on their devices during downtime. The Wifi was great! The air conditioning was a welcome relief for the many hot days. Bill, the property manager, was fantastic. He was fluent in English, accessible through WhatsApp, and had great local resources for Covid tests, sightseeing, and restaurants. We used every single suggestion. The home is in a great spot.....close to the pool and easy walk to the beach. The resort itself took Covid safety seriously. Every morning there was a line for the employees to take a health check and they always wore their masks....even outdoors. The only time they really enforced guests to wear one is on the open shuttle truck that dropped you off at the beach and around the resort. The villa is centrally located. We were able to visit friends in Santa Cruz, take day trips to Coco Beach and Tamarindo, walk to Hermosa Beach, and drive to Liberia for haircuts and larger shopping runs at Walmart. There are smaller grocery stores minutes away and restaurants along the beach and side streets. The pool area was great. There's no lap swim area, but the swim up bar was convenient. My mom loved the music. No dancing because of Covid, but the environment was great. Overall, Chris's home was a perfect place to enjoy Costa Rica. We had the best family vacation ever!
