Listing Information:
Lady Slipper Lake House is only 500 feet from Higgins Lake! We share a seasonal dock with other owners on Lady Slipper Lane. In the summer you can use the dock to access the lake to swim, fish, and other water based activities. In the evening, fire up the gas grill, grab a glass of wine and enjoy a campfire in the backyard with our newly constructed fire pit, six adirondack chairs and picnic table. In the winter, it is just a stone's throw away to enjoy ice fishing and snowmobiling on Higgins Lake.

Lady Slipper Lake House is located 2 miles from South Higgins Lake State Park where you can launch your boat in the summer and 1.8 miles from the Cross Country Ski Headquarters from wintertime cross country skiing. We are located an hour and a half from Mackinaw City and Harbor Springs, the start of Michigan's "Tunnel of Trees". It's only a few minutes to state land for hunting, or to enjoy hiking trails around Marl Lake. Within a 30 minute drive you can reach the beautiful old growth forest of Hartwick Pines State Park, and as well as world class fishing on the Ausable River. Boyne Mountain resort for winter skiing and tubing is one hour away as well.

There are two bedrooms and and one full bathroom (shower only). We can accomodate 6 guests with one queen bed, one full bed, and two twin beds. The house is cooled in the summer by two window units (living room and bedroom) and heated in the winter by a forced air furnace.

Pets are welcome for a fee, but you must include them in the VRBO reservation.

We offer free Wi-Fi to our guests and a smart television so that you can access your Netflix or other streaming accounts. Live TV is available through our smart TV's "Youtube TV app". You can also bring your favorite DVD movies to play on our DVD player.

The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glassware, pots/pans, silverware, dishtowels, dish soap, sponges, paper towels, and various cleaning supplies. Toilet paper, shampoo, soap, hairdryer, towels, and washcloths are also provided. As an extra convenience, we offer a complimentary coffee and tea bar.

Nice cabin with a quiet road end area. Neighbors were nice. Needs a larger refrigerator! I was there for ten days while I worked and found it to be quite pleasant!

Great family get away
Cabin was cute and well equipped. Walk to water was short and access was perfect for our paddle boards. We enjoyed our evening at the backyard fire pit and played games at the picnic table under the string lights.

Everything we dreamed of
Our stay at the Lady Slipper Lakehouse was amazing. The house was located only a short distance down a peaceful road to the lake. It was nice to walk past the other cottages as we approached the fresh morning beauty of the lake. The house itself had everything we could need with all kitchen and home amenities. Our young girls loved sharing the spacious room with two separate beds in it. The property was perfect including a nice backyard firepit area complete with a bundle of wood on the house. We were so happy to bring our dog to enjoy the vacation with us and are grateful for that. Exploring the area led us to South and North Higgins State Park which had great beaches for us and the dog to enjoy. We also visited the model train museum, the Roscommon Zoo and the Gahagan Nature Preserve. All in all an amazing trip, thank you Melanie and Matt for letting us stay at your home.

Fantastic place. Great location . Clean and cozy. We had some issues and had to bring our dogs at the last minute. They are wonderful people to rent from, so understanding. We are long time renters and will always return here.

friends' weekend
We have stayed in this cabin for several years and this year was just as nice as the past years. The cabin is so comfortable and had everything we needed. Melanie the owner was very helpful and made sure to check in with us. Since we had no snow for skiing, we spent our time shopping in Gaylord, taking walks and eating at different restaurants in the area. Eating at the Beechwood Cafe in Roscommon is a must! Amazing food and awesome staff. This cabin is awesome and hope to be back next year.

Great location and really nice house and location. Keep in mind you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other bedroom so great property for families or groups but not ideal for two couples unless one couple likes sleeping in separate beds.
