Casa la Kasbah is located in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, a quaint village in the state of Nayarit 20 minutes of Puerto Vallarta international airport.

Visit the local market for your produce and fresh seafood, stroll through the town to take in the scents and watch the locals as they tend to their daily tasks.

This single-level Moroccan-style home offers the perfect environment for snowbirds looking for an alternate vacation style and enjoy a true piece of paradise. It is located in a typical yet refined neighborhood 1 block from the new Marina La Cruz and 3 blocks from the closest swimmable beach where endless activities await.

Casa la Kasbah is spacious and tastefully decorated with a focus on an indoor-outdoor lifestyle. All of the living areas open onto a 6,000-square-feet lush grassy lawn, a large free-form multi-level swimming pool and a natural stone waterfall. The patio off the kitchen has a beautiful limestone fountain and a large Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. Fully-equipped kitchen has everything you'll need : appliances, glassware, cutlery, dishware, bakeware, utensils, toaster, blender, microwave oven, 5-burner stove and refrigerator. You will also be delighted to find a complete BEACH KIT which includes 2 beach chairs, 1 beach umbrella, 1 ice cooler and 2 boogie boards for your enjoyment

Beyond the kitchen, you will also find a washer and dryer area as well as your own pantry. Fish, shrimp, lobster and meat barbecues will create unforgettable moments by the pool as well as candle-lit romantic dinners under the moon.

The town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle boasts everything from funky spots where you can enjoy all types of music to a number of fabulous world-class restaurants. Punta Mita with the Four Seasons and St Regis resort and world class golf courses are just 12 minutes away by car and Sayulita, the well known surfing village is just a 15 minute drive. Shop with locals at the Wednesday market for your fresh veggies, pad into town daily to pick up fresh tortillas, dine on superb street food or elegant cuisine, stroll the marina boardwalk with locals & vacationers alike, partake in the seemingly-constant local celebrations & festivals in the plaza, or become a part of the energetic la Cruz music scene at night! Of course there is always the choice of just staying at home; indeed that is exactly what many of our guests choose to do!

For stays up to 7 nights, optional housekeeping service is available for a fee with 4 days advance notice.
For stays of 8 nights and more, a 4-hour weekly maid service is mandatory to ensure necessary minimum maintenance and hygiene standards in the premises. Cost is $28 usd per service, payable directly to the housekeeper at the end of each service.

Swimming pool heating dates vary according to the season. Swimming pool is at 29-30 degrees Celsius (84-86 degrees Fahrenheit) year round. Changes in temperature occur 24 hours after thermostat modification.

Fabulous Property
We spent a wonderful 11 days at Casa La Kasbah. The house is in a perfect location in La Cruz - a short 2 block walk to the middle of town, and about the same to the amazing fish market. Great little restaurants only a short walk away. We were often entertained right in the back yard with a variety of music from places in the neighbourhood - none of which went past about 9:00. The house is also remarkably sound proof even though it is right on the street!! The other highlight was the pool. SO lovely!!! The fact it was heated made it easy to get into at any point during the day or evening. Communication with Rick was great - and the property manager Julieta was wonderful. Quick to respond and very helpful. Was great having the 3 bedrooms. The TV area was nice although we never actually sat there!! It was so lovely in the garden that we spent our evenings out there. The Iguanas were so entertaining! We learned a lot about them - who knew Iguanas jumped out of palm trees!!! Well - they do! They were very respectful - they love the waterfall! We would come back in a heartbeat. Loved the house and the town!!!

Great home base for family vacation!
Holiday getaway for adult children and parents to gather. Comfortable with lots of amenities. Cooking, food storage and water dispenser were great! Pool was a great temperature and the iguanas in the backyard kept us entertained! Close to the beach, great restaurants, corner stores and bus stops to get to Puerto Vallarta and Bucerias. Lots of walking exploration to do near by. (Along the coast to Bucerias and the other way to some secret beaches -watch out for tides though).

A wonderful stay!
We had a great time. It's a lovely place with just about everything you could need in the small fishing village of La Cruz. Couldn't keep the kids out of the pool, not that we wanted to. We also loved seeing the Iguanas wandering the yard and hanging out in the trees on the property. We had a few minor hiccups, but Rick and Julieta attended to them very quickly and were quite helpful. We'd certainly stay here again if we're returning to the area.

Home away from Home
My guests and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa Kasbah in La Cruz! The house was as described in the listing and Rick was very responsive to emails and answered all my questions prior to my arrival. He made arrangements for airport transfers, gave me recommendations for local restaurants and services (in house spa, in house chef Elizabeth, who was lovely and a great cook!), and was responsive to any problems or issues that came up. My guests and I spent a lot of time outside in the yard, hanging out by the pool. The pool man and gardener kept the pool and gardens looking great and were very discreet when they would come to do their work, but were very friendly when we wanted to chat with them. The town of La Cruz is great, but it is rustic and small. I loved it, but guests should be aware of what the town offers, and doesn't offer, before deciding to stay there for any length of time. I was there for a month and did not have a car which worked out fine for me. My guests and I walked the town a lot, mostly going to the beach, and out for dinners and groceries. If I was staying longer, I would likely want access to a vehicle to make trips to other parts of the area. There is no bank in La Cruz but there are 2 ATMs (although I only found 1). English is spoken by some locals, but I spoke Spanish most of the time when I went out shopping or out to eat. It is important to note that I felt safe in La Cruz, even when I would go out alone. Would love to go back!!

My family and I booked the home for 10 days and sincerely enjoyed our stay! The property was awesome and pool was fabulous! There was so much to do and Delicious food to each within a 5 - 10 minute walk! The neighbors and the community were very welcoming and friendly. We spent a month here and it was amazing!! So peaceful & relaxing. The house was clean, spacious, welcoming with a beautiful yard and a pool that was heavenly! The yard, pool and house are very well taken care of by friendly professionals. The area of La Cruz is a warm friendly piece of older Mexico with everything close at hand. The small restaurants, grocery stores, local establishments are fantastic for buying all your daily needs and meals out. The owner Rick, and property manager Julieta, are quick to respond and help in any way they can. We loved it so much that we booked the house for next year! Looking forward to returning to La Cruz!! We totally agree with review published on Oct3, 2021 " BEWERE !!! AVOID THIS PLACE ! DIRTY & FALLING APART " The house was dirty and falling apart ! Almost everything felt like weren't clean for a long time. Even we had to wash all the towels because they were dirty and smelled. Big disappointment ! Not recommended at all ! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in La Cruz. The house was perfect for us and our two teens. The pool was lovely and well maintained. The house is just a few blocks away from the central plaza in La CruZ and felt very safe. La Cruz is just charming-not too touristy & the residents were very welcoming. We were very sad to leave!

This house is perfect, especially for a family or a few friends. We absolutely loved the pool, it’s deep and warm, and in a beautiful yard. We walked the beach a few times but didn’t even bother going in the ocean because the pool was waiting for us (and some cute iguanas)! House is great and has everything needed plus more. Rick, the owner and Julieta, the property manager were both very responsive and helpful. They answered all our questions so quickly. La Cruz is a great small village, very friendly people everywhere we went, delicious food at the restaurants and we even found live music and dancing. So fun Can’t say enough good things, we look forward to coming back!

We love this place!!
We are a family of four and this was our third time renting this house. Rick has done many upgrades including a heated pool, new concrete around the pool, larger privacy wall in the back yard, a new kitchen and new main bathroom. First of all, the property owner is amazing. He communicated with us almost daily, answering all of our questions and helping with everything we needed (we tested positive and had to get groceries etc.) The house is wonderful. A nice big comfy couch, 3 bedrooms to spread out in, and most of all, a big backyard with a fantastic pool. A perfect place to relax! Just a couple of blocks to the towns plaza and several good restaurants. And very handy to have a washer and dryer!

Perfect family getaway
We came many times to Puerto Vallarta but this was our first family visit to La Cruz. The house is nicely decorated, spacious and very clean, the beds and living room are comfortable, the kitchen looked brand new. We loved spending time in the heated pool watching iguanas, listening to the birds and drinking margaritas on the inflatables, while kids were playing on the manicured grass. Two of the bedrooms overlook a large sunny pool surrounded by coconut trees and lush garden, the gardener cut and sliced fresh coconuts for the kids … The third bedroom is larger but doesn’t overlook the pool. There was ample space for all of us to comfortably relax in the living room or by the pool after our days at the beach. Our host was friendly, attentive and responsive at all times. We only used the kitchen for breakfast and had other meals in town, Punta Mita and Sayuleta, there are also plenty of quality restaurants in the village, about 2 minute-walk. Our housekeeper did a great job making beds and cleaning. A very cozy and comfortable home with nice water features - hot tub with jets, outdoor oriental fountain and natural stone waterfall - that we enjoyed a lot. We loved our stay and we’ll surely come back.

An oasis hidden from view
Clean, quiet, and plenty of room. Really nice size heated pool and palm trees in back, replete with colorful green iguanas and a wide range of birds. Roomey, but not fancy on the inside but very authentic Mexican. The outside excels! Regis went out of his way to ensure our stay was better than expected - from an easy reservation, contactless check-in, very informative property and area location details, no-hassle departure. The house is well equipped. Highly recommended.
