The best of both worlds!
Villa Mercedes offers the best of Mexico to experience panoramic ocean views from a jungle setting high above Mismaloya in a multi-level Mexican mansion. Walk to fantastic local restaurants, and beach. Beautifully furnished, with old world style artifacts and charming personal flair that truly makes you feel you are a guest in Mercedes home! Gabi and Luz went on and above for us, even preparing chicken for our poodle at every meal. They are absolutely lovely and made our trip the best. We were just 2 people but plan on returning with a large group based on the hospitality we received and quality of the villa. This is not a resort tourist spot, so plan on walking and opening yourself up to an authentic cultural experience you will treasure forever. 6 stars! Muchas gracias, Gabi, Luz, and Mercedes!

My friends and I came right after a Hurricane. There was a lot of destruction on the roads and in the jungle. The house was lovely. Mercedes and Robisito were wonderful. There are no words to express how wonderful Gabi and Luz were. I would go again.

Very disappointed
The property was not advertised properly. There were 7 of us over the age of 60. In order to go to bed you had to walk up or down concrete steps. Three of the guest had knee replacements and one had ankle issues. One person was even walking on a cane. There were LARGE FROGS in the kitchen area and gecko's throughout the house. We all had to find hotels except my brother who stayed at the house because he could not afford a hotel. On his last night there there was a power outage and it was pitch black all night!! They also did not tell us it was across the street from the ZOO. The owner refused to give us ANY MONEY BACK for our inconvenience and she was VERY RUDE!!! We are going to use our Social Media to boycott this property!!!

This is a beautiful home with amazing staff. Gaby and Luz elevated our trip from great to amazing! From the breakfasts they cook each morning to the dinners we requested! The food was better then we had at local restaurants and their service is top notch! We celebrated my son's birthday while we were there and Gaby even got him a birthday cake and made special drinks for the dinner! The views are breathtaking and we had plenty of room for the 11 adults we had with us!

Wonderful vacation
Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) stayed at Villa Mercedes for Spring Break. This house was perfect for us- lots of space for everyone to spread out. The best part of Villa Mercedes is Gabi and Luc. They took excellent care of us! From preparing delicious breakfast and dinner for us to helping us arrange last minute tours for the kids- they were so helpful. We rented a small SUV to allow us to go into Puerto Vallarta and drive to Boca de Tomatlan for a few excursions. Having 3 active teens in our group- we did a lot during our stay- renting ATVs, zip lining adventure, night time taco tour, sunset kayaking to Los Arcos, and hiking to Las Animas beach. The house was a perfect setting to start and end our day. It was so nice to sit by the pool and relax after a busy day.

Peacefully pampered
As a family of 11 we really felt pampered as we enjoyed the cool breezes of the jungle while we relaxed, visited, read books and enjoyed the deliscious food prepares by Gaby and Luz. On our first evening, after a stop at Costco en route from the airport, we felt spoiled as Gaby and Luz welcomed us with margaritas while supper was brewing. We opted for 6 dinners and often enjoyed the full breakfasts so kindly and expertly prepared for us. On our first full day, 9 of our group were wanting massages. Gaby arranged for massage therapists to come to the villa and they set up the beds for us, with 3 people at a time enjoying an hour of bliss while the therapists worked. The open air environment allowed for the cool breezes of the jungle to keep us cool. There are some bugs and we prepared for it so it wasn't problematic but it's something to be aware of. Gaby and Luz are truly gems and we really valued input and suggestions offered for adventures and options nearby. The hill is steep and so there was some fitness built in when walking down to town and back up... who needs a gym? The pool, though it has a cover, is quite *brisk* - the house shades much of the sun. We used the pool fairly often and it was quite refreshing. If you're looking for bathtub warm, it's not that. We enjoyed how spacious the villa is and we made use of the hammock on the top floor. The villa is so lovely! The rooms are airy and comfortable. The beds are soft and the bedding is, too! I could go on for days about the food! We opted for 6 supper during our 10 day stay. We picked up extra groceries for fulle breakfasts as well as yogurt, bread and extra fruit for those of the group who preferred something lighter in the mornings. Suppers were generous and it worked beautifully to have leftovers handy for lunches on the days where we were choosing to fend for ourselves. We were able to hop on the bus and head into PV or to Boxa de Tomatlan on the days we wanted to adventure a little. The villa is situated up the hill from Mismaloya and we felt safe and pampered while we were there. It's truly a beautiful, peaceful place for a holiday. Close to but not in the thick of things. Its location was perfect for our group and we were truly thankful for the ambiance and the service. Our communications with Mercedes went very well. She was very responsive and patient with our many questions prior to our stay. Highly recommend!

The house is absolutely amazing!!! More than enough room for the entire family. The view from the top floor balcony is amazing. The private pool is great too, especially after a long day of exploring the local area. House is up a large hill up a road that is honestly quite an adventure when driving up. Mornings are something special at Villa Mercedes. The jungle surrounding the villa comes alive shortly before sunrise with many birds. As amazing as the house is, the thing that sets this villa apart is the amazing staff. From the minute we arrived at the airport to the time we left the villa, Gabby and Luz took the best care of us. They answered any questions we had and had all the local connections for our daily excursions. You want to go on a boat trip for the day? Just ask. You want a ride into town? Just ask. You want to go ziplining? Just ask. You get the picture, whatever you want to do, simply ask Gaby and he will help set it all up for you. Each morning they arrived to cook an amazing breakfast for us. Take advantage of the extra dinner service as well. We did this three times during our week-long trip and did not regret it at all. The most amazing food everyone in our group loved. Simply, we were treated like family while we were there and that was very special for us. We will most definitely be returning to Villa Mercedes. We loved the property after we acclomated to Mexican living. The property was beautiful, but there was no AC in the common areas, only in the bedrooms. There was a nice breeze so it was comfortable. Once the group got used to that, we had a fabulous time. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Gaby was so gracious and happily took care of everything we needed. Merecedes and Gaby took care of all of my wedding planning and everything was beautiful. The house was gorgeous and the views were spectacular. We felt very safe there, high up the mountain in the middle of the jungle.

This is a great property for a large family or different groups of people due to the separation of space. The listing doesn't really describe this but there is 2 bedrooms right by the pool with a Jack and Jill bathroom which is great. Although it is a little bit of a drive to and from the actual city, we found easy ways to get around with our group of 10 thanks to Gaby. We took plenty of excursions around the area and were busy all the time. Gaby and Luz are great so if you do go please make sure you ask them about things to do!

Villa in the jungle with beautiful views
It's hard to capture in pictures how wonderful the view is, especially from the third floor. The drive up to the house was an adventure in itself up a crazy steep road in a very secluded and private area. We didn't arrive until after dark, and the villa was all lit up with music playing and margaritas and appetizers waiting for us. Super cool atmosphere. Gabby and Luz are wonderful. I loved the wild birds and macaws in the morning. It is a bit of a walk down to the beach and almost straight up coming back, but the setting is gorgeous. We are already missing this wonderful villa and wish we could stay longer.

We had a wonderful experience at Villa Mercedes . The house was beautifully decorated with handcrafted items from the Mexican culture. Gaby and Luz were amazing! They took care of us well thru our week vacation. Gaby set all of our excursions up for us , and made sure our taxi was there also. If you go , do the all day boat trip. So much fun! Even tho our power went out several times Gaby and Luz made the most beautiful dinners for us. We had such a great time celebrating our 50th anniversary. Will never forget what a great time we had. I have so much to say I don’t know where to begin! I booked this amazing home for my birthday and an adult getaway with friends. There were 15 of us total but only 10 that stayed in the Villa. I don’t even want to begin describing the home without talking about Gabi and Luz first. WOW! Gabi is an exceptional human being. Guaranteed our stay there wouldn’t have been near as magical without him. He was the most attentive, accommodating, selfless person I’ve ever met. We gave him free rein on breakfast and he cooked us the most delicious meals! I also hired him for my birthday dinner and not only did he cook up something amazing, he showed up with a chocolate cake WITH my name on it! He took a couple of us shopping on his day off and missed church with his family. He took us to the gas station if we were out of beverages. He helped set up our van rides with Floy (who was also amazing!) so we could be shuttled around wherever we wanted to go. He helped us set up boating excursions, massages at the Villa for my birthday, hospital/Covid test appointments, etc. etc. etc.! I could go on and on. All of my friends want to track him down and fly him out to us to give HIM an awesome vacation. You will never meet a more grateful group for that guy. Luz is so sweet! Very quiet but I would catch her giggling at us from time to time. She doesn’t speak much English but we had a few of us there that speak fluent Spanish. She kept everything very clean and would never let me wash my own dish. We can be a rowdy bunch and messy on party nights, but we never heard one complaint. We tipped all of them big at the end of our trip, and I hope everyone who stays there does that as well. They absolutely deserve it. THE HOUSE! The view! This has to be one of the most charming places I’ve stayed. There is so much character to it! It’s completely unique and I loved every bit of it. We all did. My husband and I stayed in the master on the top floor. The toilet didn’t flush well at first but my husband dinked around with it for a minute and fixed it. I usually take really hot showers and couldn’t even deal with how hot the water got. Water pressure was great, air conditioning worked great though we rarely used it. Not too many bugs and a lovely pool that we played in everyday. We have been home now for 3 days and still can’t stop talking about it and sharing pictures. We’ve already decided we want to make this a yearly vacation if they’ll have us back!
