« Des gens charmants, bon lit, petit-déjeuner convenable, mais chambre gelante, pas de radiateur dans la salle de bain, peu de débit d'eau, pas d'espace pour les touristes au rez-de-chaussée hormis le matin lors du petit déjeuner. Dans un village près de Keswick, mais pas à Keswick. Dans ces conditions, assez cher. »

« We came back late from a long walk in the Lakes and realize arriving in our room that they gave us a room with no blind or curtain !!!! We rang the Reception at 11pm they said someone was coming but nobody showed up. The following morning when we wanted to record a formal claim the receptionist just told us "sorry" It is a shame !!! Avoid this hotel ! You pay a high rate for the location but the rest is shameful !! »

« This is such a special place, historic, scenic,homely,warm and welcoming. The garden suite was outstanding and the food quality excellent. The only thing I could possibly complain about was the Guiness as sad as that is. It frustrates me incredibly when I order a branded draught beverage and it comes in a different branded glass. The Guiness was poured in one go whereas the connoisseurs of the black beauty recognise and appreciate it’s a slow patient process leaving mid way to stand for a while....
