The space
Possum lodge is the serene getaway you’ve been dreaming of. Tucked in the woods on a dead end street and a newly renovated interior, you can have the rustic charm you are seeking, but the luxuries of modern living.
This 2-bedroom cabin features new appliances, a pull-out couch, a cozy, pull-out recliner, an outdoor fire-pit, a gas-grill, and private lake access.
Spend your time out fishing/swimming on the lake, curled up with a good book and blanket inside, or roasting some marshmallows by the campfire. This charming year-round home is perfect for small group gatherings or a close to home staycation.
The master bedroom features a queen bed and twin bunk beds, along with a “pack and play” to meet any family needs. The second bedroom has a queen bed and TV. There is one shared bathroom for the space. In the living room, you will find the TV equipped with Netflix & Hulu, Wi-Fi strong enough to support the "Work from Home” lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of, and a pull-out couch.
We have two complimentary single kayaks and one double kayak for use during your stay and direct access to the lake. If you have little ones, we are just a short ten minute drive to a free, local splash pad. Upon check in, we will provide you with a guidebook sharing all of the fun local amenities this area has to offer.
Guest Access:
Guests may arrive any time after 4 PM on the day of check-in. (Earlier check-in may be available for additional fee if not previously rented- please contact host for early check-in). We have a keyless door entry and will provide you a code to enter and exit the property on the day of check-in. Standard checkout is at 10 am. One day prior to rental we will send all of the information needed to checkin.
Inventory:
We consider ourselves stocked with basic supplies: 1 roll of toilet paper per day, 1 roll of paper towel per stay, hand soap, dishwashing soap, 1 garbage bag per day, basic cooking utensils, and most importantly, bottle/wine openers! Within the cabin, you will find basic cooking supplies (salt/pepper/olive oil, etc.) which you are free to use. If you run out of supplies Westfield’s Supervalu is located at 519 S. Main St. Westfield, WI. Please bring your own towels for the stay. We also recommend that you bring your own bug spray and cosmetics for the duration of your stay, but should you forget anything, please feel free to help yourself to anything you find in the cabin.
Neighborhood description
About the Lake:
Lawrence Lake is Fed by Lawrence Creek which is a Class 1 Trout Stream in Marquette County. Fish of the Lake include: Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, Sun fish, Blue Gills, Perch and Yellow Bullhead.
While the lake is great for fishing and recreational activities, certain recreational activities are not allowed on this lake. These include: the use of a personal water craft (jet ski), water skiing & other tow water sports, & sea planes. We would also like to remind you that there is a Slow No Wake within 200’ of the shoreline. We do have a private pier should you like to bring your own boat, kayak or canoe, but any water activities are at your own risk. In the winter, snowmobile trails are connected to the Lake and ATV Routes are nearby.
Other Important things to Know:
We are so delighted to have you stay at our cabin! We ask that you please treat our home as if it is your own and follow the stated house rules below carefully:
Noise:
Our neighbors are great, but due to the close-proximity we ask you to respect them by refraining from loud noise between 10pm-8am.
Pet Policy:
We love pets, but we ask that you limit the number to 2 small-medium breed dogs or 1 large dog. If you are bringing your furry loved ones, please keep them off the carpeted space. We have a baby gate in place so you shouldn’t have any issues doing this. Please keep your pets on leashes when outside of the cabin and pick up after them. Please stay off of the vacant lot next door and do not allow guests or pets on the other side of the fence. There will be a $100 per pet fee for the duration of your stay and a $250 refundable damage deposit for any guests with pets. Failure to clean up after your dog will result in a $50 fee. We do not allow for fireworks of any kind to be used during your stay.
Guests/Visitors:
We love having friends over, but do not allow any additional overnight visitors other than what has been previously approved. If your plans change, please contact us to seek approval. Additionally, we do not allow for any events of any kind during your stay.
Non-Smoking:
Please note that this is a non-smoking home and we do not allow illicit drug use at any time while on our property.
Appliances, Utilities, And Securities:
Please switch off all lights, fans, and electronics upon check-out and when you are not at home. Please wash and put away all dishes used. Please lock and close all doors and windows when you leave. We are not responsible for the loss of any personal valuables or belongings.
Garbage & Recycling:
Please empty all garbage and recycling and put in in the secured garbage bins outside. If your garbage does not fit inside, please plan to take it with you to dispose of yourself. We will ensure adequate room in the bins, but garbage left inside our home will result in a $50 fee.
Damages:
We understand that accidents happen! We ask that you report any accidental damages prior to check-out in a timely manner. In case of damage to property that is not covered by insurances, guests will pay for the repair. Please be respectful of our space and keep furniture in the room you found it in.
Lake & Kayak use:
No lifeguard. Lake and kayaks may be used at your own risk.
Winter:
Winter is a little challenging at the cabin but our favorite time there! It is extremely peaceful and beautiful there in the snow. We hire someone to plow once the snow storm passes. The short walk and driveway from the parking spot to the house may or may not may not be shoveled. Please wear appropriate winter footwear and be prepared to shovel if booking during the winter months.
Compliance:
A breach in any of the above stated rules is a breach of the terms and conditions that you have agreed to. We reserve the right to evict any guests or visitors from the property who do not follow the above stated rules.
Cancelation Policy:
We encourage our guests to obtain travel insurance, so that in the case of unforeseen circumstances such as illness, family emergency, or other scheduling conflict you are covered. We do not refund or make exceptions to our policy.
