Miscommunication besides being extremely frustrated and disappointed
I can’t rate this place because we never got the chance to stay there, due to not getting the code to get in.
Tried numerous times to get in touch with the host to no avail. Reached out to the Vrbo support team, who were very helpful and patience with us considering my husband was extremely irritated and disappointed due to the situation.
The support team also could not reach the host and ended putting us in a hotel and paid for two nights ( we paid the other two days). This entire ordeal lasted over two hours.
We were disappointed but, the new accommodation were better than expected ( and I thank the support team for that)
We finally settled into our hotel room and went out to dinner.
The following morning the host did reach out to my husband at 12:30am ( we were asleep), profusely apologizing for not giving us the code and proceeded to give it to us, ( the host had no reception due to being in an international flight ).My husband declined and we stayed the entire time at the hotel.
The lesson learned in this situation is be proactive and reach out a few days before your trip to the host to give you the code for entrance of the place you’ll be staying, in order to avoid this nightmare
