Hotel was overall good, room was big and a beautiful view. Room was clean, but I don’t like the hotels policy on having to ask for housekeeping. It’s a hotel, housekeeping should be the norm. It’s a bit of a walk to the centre, and I would ensure you pick the right route as there were some odd walks though random streets, but once we found a better indirect route all was fine. Hotel is a bit older in style but well enough maintained. Staff were friendly and courteous.

The hotel was clean and staff nice, but overall pretty worn down. Was quite expensive for what it was, but we were there for a concert, so limited choices. It was a quick walk to and from the central train station, but not accessible without a car if you have mobility issues or a lot of luggage (lots of stairs!)

A good nights stay in this hotel. Staff very good. Room had great views over the Tyne and bridges - but was a little 'tired'. Bed was comfy. Good breakfast and parking was easy. Received free parking and a couple of complimentary drinks as a VIP member

Last minute booking through Expedia. First time booking here and it was a lovely hotel. Clean and fresh. Very traditional rooms not over modern. Bathrooms a little dated but nothing to worry about. Quiet night great sleep and were given 2 free drinks for celebrating outmr anniversary

Staff were nice, room was reasonable, and stay was all that we required for the evening we were there. Food was quick and hot and everything was amenable. However, to be open, honest and transparent in this review, the room looked set for one person rather than a couple. (one packet of biscuits with the tea service, only one towel laid out in the bathroom (Had to source the other from the wardrobe) and the light only working on one side of the bed. The toilet is also so low that it feels like sitting on the floor using it. The bath was also so shallow that it barely covered the top of legs when full, and the soaps fixed to the wall were so far out of reach that they were not usable in the bath. (Had our own toiletries to compensate). The worst thing was that, when the cold water tap was on, it was so tight that it wouldn't turn off, and we nearly flooded the room before achieving this. Then, once turned off, it was effectively locked off and unusable again. I forgot to report this to the team on departure, so hopefully this review will assist. In summary. The room service teams do need to QC their own work, but the staff were solid, efficient, and helpful. The place just needs some TLC in order to support the team effort and energy.
