"Comfortable, clean and spacious accommodation that was convenient for our short stay in Dunedin. The owners were friendly and the room was well-equipped with all the amenities you'd need. The only downside was the loud music we could hear from a nearby venue (our stay did include Friday and Saturday nights) well into the night. Apart from this we would highly recommend this place."
"We have stayed in many hotels around the world and this would be up there with the best of the best! The rooms were spacious, the decor fitting for the era of the original building, the rooms were well appointed, the food was excellent, and the service was fabulous. Highly recommended if you are a fussy traveller!"
"Everything about this motel was excellent. Helpful staff, thoughtful touches, lovely garden, laundry facilities, central location. Highly recommend. "
"This was a great place to stay when we were passing through Dunedin. It was within walking distance of some great bars & eateries and clean and tidy. Perfect for our needs. "
"Excellent value and quality motel. Some motels in NZ can be substandard, so this was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and the motel is very conveniently located in the centre of Dunedin."
"Very impressive entrance. The whole castle vibe starts at the entrance iron gates and the sentry box. Narrow country laneway winds around the castle to the Lodge accommodation passing car parks and gardens. Be mindful of buses and cars coming the other way. Met by reception as we tried to locate a car park space near the Lodge. Low key reception check in space. Friendly reception manager provided all the information we needed to know accompanied with a map and the information that had been...
"The environment is quiet, the room is reasonably designed, comfortable, warm and clean, the bedding is of good quality, and it provides a great living experience."
"Good quality motel at the Northern end of Dunedin CBD. Short walk to Botanical Gardens, good restaurants and picturesque buildings such as Otago University Clocktower and Dunedin Railway Station. Parking a bit tight, particularly as hotel on quite a slope (Called Bank for a reason!). Room comfortable and mezzanine floor a good use of space."

Friendly reception manager provided all the information we needed to know accompanied with a map and the information that had been spoken in print, then showed us to our room. First impact, the outstanding natural imagery outside the large window. Period style furnishings and modern bathroom with heated flooring (love the tartan wallpaper, on top half of wall, adds to the overall effect) Dined in the castle with a guided tour after our meal. A very special experience."
"Good value a very spacious unit with separate bedroom and comfortable bed. Nice decor and had everything we needed. Husband loved both sky movies and sport on the TV. A few choices for eating within walking distance. Off the main road and easy to find. Parking available but a little tight for bigger vehicles. Would stay again "
