Welcome to our Adirondack Abode..a cozy 2 BR apt in a friendly, residential neighborhood minutes from downtown Lake Placid. A full kitchen for cooking in & great restaurants within walking distance. A deck to enjoy morning coffee and a backyard to sit by a campfire in the evening. See photos for year-round activities, adventures and events. We look forward to hosting you and will do everything we can to make your stay positively comfortable and memorable. 4 night minimum booking for Ironman.
The space
We have a cozy 2 -bedroom home on an acre of property with plenty of off-street parking. It sleeps 4 people with queen-sized beds. I also have a pack 'n play available for the little ones in your family. Are you bringing your children but interested in an adult evening out? I have a Red Cross-certified babysitter available that you can hire so you can enjoy a little couple- time without worry. We have a nice big backyard where you can sit in the evening, enjoy a campfire and play yard games we provide and a smaller yard right off the entrance. I provide many breakfast items and a large assortment of dishes, pots and pans and basic ingredients if you prefer to stay in and cook. Please note that we are located within village limits and have neighbors so to be respectful, we ask that you please keep the noise at a courteous level, especially if in the evening by the campfire. It is very conveniently located which offers shopping, dining, sightseeing, hiking and paddling within walking distance. The trolley stop is directly across the street for free in-town commuting and Uber is available. The Adirondack Corner Store is right down the street which allows you to pick up small incidentals, access an ATM machine, get coffee, lunch and soft ice cream without driving into town. The Olympic Ski Jumping Complex, Horse Show Grounds, Historic John Brown's Farm and Rugby and Lacrosse fields are within walking distance. We are located on the Ironman route where you have a grandstand view from our newly constructed covered front deck. Downtown you will find an abundance of shops and restaurants. Enjoy a day at the beach on Mirror Lake, walk or mountain bike the beautiful wooded trails at Henry's Woods or Heaven Hill trails, fish on the Ausable River or hike the 46 High Peaks. I have access to a NYS Licensed Guide if you are interested in hiring them for a fishing, hiking, mountain-biking or camping adventure. Whiteface Mountain is a short drive and on the way, stop and meander on the lovely trails at High Falls Gorge. In the other direction, Saranac Lake has lots to offer as well, including the historic Robert Louis Stevenson Cottage and Museum and a beautiful carousel for the kids with hand carved Adirondack wildlife. Nearby Tupper Lake is home of the wonderful Wild Center where you can take nature walks, see and learn about plants, birds and animals in the Adirondacks including turtles, ducks and otters, have a picnic or go on the Wild Walk which gives you a chance to walk among the treetops and climb on a simulated spiderweb. A bit further down the highway is Blue Mountain Lake where you can visit The Adirondack Museum with it's over 40,000 sq. ft of exhibits. There's so much to experience and enjoy just a short drive away. At the end of your adventure-filled days you can come back and relax in your cozy space, furnished with all the conveniences and comforts of home.

You have a fully-furnished half of the house. For your convenience there is an electronic key-less private entrance and you will be provided the code upon your arrival.

Our mission is to see that your stay is enjoyable, comfortable, relaxing and memorable. Please make our abode your home away from home. Since Covid-19 we now clean and sanitize extensively, paying extra attention to disinfect all high-touch areas including door knobs, light switches, etc. You can feel confident that we are taking all necessary precautions to make sure you stay safe and healthy in our home.
