Welcome to the Bear's Den cabin! It is located in the Peaks of Lake Lure gated community and it offers plenty of space for the whole family (sleeps 11). Relax with your loved ones around the fireplace or have fun grilling out on the spacious deck while the kids are roasting s'mores at the firepit. The amazing mountain views will add that extra special touch to your mountain vacation. The kitchen offers all of the necessary tools for you to prepare meals for your family and the updated counter tops and appliances will help you feel the comfort of home. Just a short drive to the lake, beach, and everything else Lake Lure has to offer.


NOTE: A mandatory non-refundable damage insurance fee ($59-$79 depending on the coverage) is applied to each reservation. This is not a pet-friendly home. Guests are required to sign a Vacation Rental Agreement at the time of booking.


In the event of a cancellation by Tenant, the VRBO/HomeAway Strict Cancellation Policy will apply.

Very Nice House
Loved the house - secind time staying there. House us just as listed and the views can't be beat. Only issue was the lady bugs in the two upstairs bedrooms - one or two would have been ok, but there were a bunch more than that and no way to knock them down. That, and some TV channels had parental controls that nobody knew the passcode to.

Wonderful homey cabin
Our second stay at Bears Den, and that should be telling. It is a wonderful vacation home; great layout, beautiful location, well appointed, and the Christmas decorations were stellar. The rental agent is engaging and responsive (one slight comms glitch, but quickly worked through). Our only recommendations for change would be to consider changing out the living room seating (you may need help getting up from the couch especially) and adding a larger filter to the water system. Other than that, the beds and linens were great and the kitchen came with everything a family needs to make memories!

Perfect Long Weekend
We had a perfect long weekend getaway. The house had everything we needed and more. It is setup so thoughtfully, and makes you feel right at home. And the view is awesome. Definately will be back.

This place was just what we needed. My whole family consisted of 8 adults and 2 kids 3 and under. We each had our own spaces that worked well for us. At one point one of our tubs didn’t drain and we communicated with the owner and someone came soon after that to fix it. Very quick!

This cabin has it all!
We always enjoy our anniversary mountain trips and we choose a different cabin every year. Our 24th anniversary trip to Bears Den Cabin was amazing and might end up being our first ever repeat cabin. You can tell, by the details, whether the owners are sharing a cabin/home with you when you rent it. This cabin/home had everything we needed. There were so many items of convenience that we were pleasantly surprised every time we opened a drawer, night stand or closet. The thoughtfulness was found in every detail and we never once said, “I wish we had brought…” The view was spectacular - from the fire pit, from the back deck swing, from the huge windows while on the leather couches. The king bed in the master suite was very comfortable. The gas logs in the stone fireplace were easy to use, as was the gas grill on the back deck. The flat screen TV, satellite and surround-sound were also easy to use. If we needed information on anything, it was provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already trying to figure out when we can return with our teenage son who will enjoy the downstairs “apartment” by the game tables. Thank you for sharing your cabin/home with us!

Great Destination Stay
Looked like a champion, booking this place for a guys trip to NC mountains. Schedule seemed to be wake up with a few games of ping pong, get in a run on the ridge, exploring, then back for a sunset view dinner and fire pit. Saw a lot of wildlife during our stay!

Beautiful cabin & home. Love the location and the views. However the communication with the property manager wasn't very good. The first night we didn't have any water (with 5 kids). I tried contacting the property manager around 6pm with no response until 9am the next day. So 15 hours no water. For it to be the water lines shut off from the inspector. Then the entry keypad quit working with my code & the air conditioning wasn't working blowing warm air. Stayed 80 plus degrees in the home. I tried contacting property manager again multiple times to get absolutely no response at all. So our last 4 days we had no air & we had to leave the back door unlocked everytime we left or we would not have been able to get back in the house. Love the home but they need to work on communication issues extremely bad.

Wonderful place to stay!
We just completed a wonderful week at the Bear’s Den cabin! The cabin was as beautiful as pictured, fully equipped, and immaculately clean! 8 adults enjoyed the deck, front porch, and fire pit. The views are amazing! Vess, the rental agent, was very responsive when the coffee maker was not working. She delivered a new machine less than 24 hours later. We highly recommend this rental.

Great Stay at Bears Den Cabin
Our small family group had a great week at Bears Den Cabin. The view is spectacular and the cabin is very well equipped with everything needed to cook. We brought along many things like olive oil and baking powder that we didn't need because the kitchen is fully stocked. We really enjoyed the ping pong table and darts. A plus for us is that it's easy to access the cabin, whereas for a lot of places a four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary or at least highly desirable. No complaints at all, and we would definitely put this on our go-again list!
