Welcome to Residence One at the historic Abeel House. Constructed in the 1850's, the Abeel House has been thoughtfully refreshed to welcome visitors for the first time in its history.
The space
Residence One is a two bedroom, one bathroom space occupying the first two floors of this duplex unit. The first floor has an open-plan with a full kitchen with new appliances, a primary dining area, a comfortable living area, and a cozy nook perfect for reading, entertaining, or dining. The original exposed beams and brick work throughout the first floor provide a connection to the home's long history, while modern upgrades provide the comfort and connectivity needed to enjoy a long stay.
The second floor has two spacious bedrooms, each with a queen bed, multiple windows overlooking Rondout Creek, and dedicated heating and cooling units. The bathroom is accessible via the hallway and the primary bedroom and contains a vintage claw foot tub with shower.
Other things to note
The Abeel House is located next to Rondout Creek and at the base of the Wilbur Bridge. The bridge does still see regular freight train traffic, providing a periodic reminder of Kingston's importance as a transportation hub in early America.
Residence One includes many modern amenities and comforts, while maintaining the property's historical charm.
The Loft on the third floor is available to rent separately and may be occupied. Please contact me for inquiries about booking the entire home.
