We are Backroads Inn and Cabins. Our property lies in Echo Valley. 8 acres surrounded by National Forest. We are the essence of the Black Hills, yet minutes away from everything people come to see, like Mt Rushmore (2.4 miles) and Custer State Park (15 minutes).

Perfect for those looking for the economy of a studio with the privacy of a bedroom.  The Miner's is a one-bedroom (queen) with an apartment-size kitchen, dining room and living room. There is also a queen and twin size folding mattress for the floor. There is a deck off the front with a private gas grill and our standard fire pit and horse swing.  This cabin is best suited for a small family or a couple.

Too many children
Pictures were deceiving. Wanted peace and quiet but too many kids and cabins too close. Miner's cabin needs new shower liner, bed, and curtains on the kitchen window and not just sheers on bedroom window. The bedroom window was broken so you couldn't open and close it. No firewood as stated and pool wasn't heated.

Cozy Cabin & Great Location
My wife and I only stayed two nights in the area, so we wanted something that was pretty centrally located to the popular activities, but also remote enough to have some solitude and this cabin definitely fit those needs. Overall, a nice little cabin that we would be happy to rent again.

Peace and solitude
This was the perfect little cabin for my husband and I to relax after a day of exploring the beauty of the area. The cabin was clean, very comfortable and in a beautiful, quiet and peaceful location. It had everything we needed and was very close to town with restaurants and shops. Perfect spot to get away and enjoy the beauty of God's creation! Highly recommend!!

Perfect Getaway
We live in BIG City and this was just what we needed. It was nice being in a setting that we could cook and sit by the fire and just admire nature. We enjoyed seeing the steam train go by. We stayed possibly close to a time that may be off season but we love off seasons due to more quiet time !! I would recommend and stay here again.

Perfect night in a beautiful setting!
This was such a lovely cabin in a beautiful wooded setting. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had been recently renovated. My family was at the end of a long vacation and the cabin was everything we hoped for. The owners were wonderful to work with and made our stay special. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

Our experience at this cabin was great, far surpassing most other cabins we've visited. First of all, it was spotlessly clean, smelled fresh, and everything was in perfect working order. The cabin was decorated beautifully- nice and modern but not taking away from the cabin vibe. The area around the cabin was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. It is located only a short drive from Mount Rushmore which was a huge bonus. The check-in and out was effortless and we appreciated the detailed instructions and welcome given to us. Overall it was a great experience and I'd highly recommend!

Our Black Hills Adventure
We absolutely loved our stay and cabin. These cabins are in the most perfect location and I wish our vacation would have allowed for more time. October was a beautiful time to go! We are still raving about our cabin. We have every plan on coming back and renting a cabin again. The cabin itself was so cute and cozy. The owners have everything you could possibly need right in the cabin. The only piece of constructive criticism I would give is that we could have used a a few extra trash bags and the floor in our cabin needs a few tweaks. It was difficult to walk around quietly while littles tried to sleep, but this is nothing to shy away from these cabins for. Great stay! Great location!
