The Space:
Stour Tiny House is a charming retreat near our petting zoo, perfect for animal lovers and families. Just a 52-minute drive from the coastal city of New Plymouth, this retreat in the town of Huiroa offers easy access to iconic local attractions.
Discover the architectural Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, explore the lush greenery of Pukekura Park, the Paritutu Rock, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Egmont National Park. For zoo enthusiasts, Brooklands Zoo is also within reach.
A comfortable, 139-square-foot accommodation is set in one of the best tiny house rentals and serene locations with abundant natural bushland, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that there are three tiny houses called "Avon, Henge and Stone Tiny Houses " that sit on the same property. If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny house and surrounding areas. We are a working farm there will be some restricted areas that change daily. This depends on the season and what animals are being born etc.
We have open water areas and a working farm. The stay is suitable for children and infants fully supervised by their parents.

By car:
- From Stratford, it's a 7 kilometers drive, taking around 25 minutes
- From New Plymouth, the distance is 56 kilometers, and the drive takes just under an hour.

By public transport:

- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Please be advised that we have free-roaming farm animals (and potential noise) on our property. However, the units are on a quiet section of the property
Important note:
- Keep in mind that outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
- We enforce strict guidelines regarding dogs due to our location in a sheep farming area. This farm holds incredibly rare genetics, the rarest in New Zealand, which could be easily threatened by free-roaming dogs. While we would prefer no dogs.
