A Perfect B&B a Stone's Throw from Hadrian's Wall
We wholeheartedly recommend this very comfortable and friendly b&b within a few minutes drive of Hadrian's Wall. Kate and Ian made us feel very welcome and our room and breakfast were both perfect. A real gem.

Ian and Kate were fabulous hosts! They offered to do some laundry which was needed after a muddy day on the trails. The accomodations were first rate. The breakfast and homemade lemon cake was delicious!! Would certainly recommend!

Absolutely perfect in every detail! Every single amenity and convenience has been anticipated. The breakfast was phenomenal with an outstanding array of homemade choices sure to please anyone. The Old School House is THE BEST B&B period. Kate and Ian go to great lengths to provide everything you could possibly need. They are so kind and hospitable. Kate provides a huge and delicious breakfast tailored to suite you. There is extra fruit to take away on your day trips. And fabulous cakes, tea, coffee, water and a chocolate to greet you in your room every afternoon. Don’t even think about staying anywhere else. You will love it!

Great B&B for visits to Hadrians Wall
Ian and Kate were great hosts, giving us a warm welcome to their lovely home, which was modern, clean and very comfortable. The Border Breakfast was amongst the best breakfasts we have ever had, high praise indeed! Haltwhistle also has very convenient pubs and restaurants and ideally placed for walks along the wall and visits to Homesteads and Vindolanda.

Perfect stopover
It was great to catch up with Kate & Ian for our second visit. The review scores for this B&B are not an exaggeration as the hosts are clearly seeking out perfection in all aspects, particularly the hospitality shown and the breakfast on offer. We use it as a Scotland stop-over and to us, its worth the drive from the M6, but the outstanding Northumbrian scenery makes it a destination in its own right. Can't recommend highly enough.
