Enchanting Cottage in the Unrivaled Kiva Dunes Golf and Seaside Community.

Feel the warmth of the sun, the sand beneath your toes and the smell of suntan oil as you spend some lazy days in this picturesque cottage. Located in the magnificent golf and seaside community Kiva Dunes, this sun kissed house has everything you are looking for. With two bedrooms and two baths, this humble beach abode sleeps 4 comfortably. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom and two twins in the second bedroom. Wood floors, ceiling fans for that 'southern comfort' feeling.

The kitchen is fully equipped for your culinary needs and will inspire you to sip ice tea and eat boiled shrimp out on the airy porches. After an evening out under the stars, come in and enjoy a movie on cable TV, or VCR, DVD, or your favorite music on the FM/CD player. We also have playing cards, board games, and a small VCR/DVD library of films. Free Wi-Fi.


What to Do: A nearby walkway leads you over the white dunes and sea oats to the cool surf where sand crabs scurry about on our community's private beach. Delight in chartered fishing excursions, championship golf, nature walks, outlet shopping, amusement parks, wonderful restaurants, on site tennis, or swimming in any of the three private community pools or relax at an adjacent resort nearby which has a day spa.

We now have obtained a membership for our guests in the private Kiva Dunes Beach Club Pool and Grill where you can relax, eat outside, enjoy the beach, hot tub, and get a massage! Just register at the main clubhouse with your CC to get your wristband.
We also now have a free golf cart shuttle service.

Repeat renters - We love this place!
We absolutely love staying at the 'Just for Fun' cottage. We have stayed here repeatedly because we love it so much. Deb is such a wonderful host, and her home is impeccable. We love that it is a sweet little cottage nestled in such a nice neighborhood full of amenities. Our family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids - feel like we're at home away from home when we stay here. Honestly, we will be deeply saddened if Philip and Deb ever sell this home, because we have made it our family tradition of coming back here every time we head to the beach. The Kiva Dunes facilities are also amazing which makes this stay absolute perfection. We have uncrowded pools and beaches, and restaurants to enjoy. We truly feel like we've found a hidden gem in this beach rental. We absolutely love it. Since the last time we came, there have been renovation updates made to the home which were nice touches this stay. We can't wait to come back!

Loved this property
This was perfect for our family of 3. Walking to the beach was so easy. The owners had chairs, umbrellas, and everything you would need. Their water pressure was amazing. We went on a sunset cruise, airboat ride, and several of other things and this place was close enough to all of that. The only thing i would recommend is a fan for outside, just bring one with you. Loved this place.

Location was great! Gated community with lots of amenities. It is small so 4 max but very quaint and short walk to beach and a pool 2 houses away or beach club just a short shuttle away! Nice to be away from busy gulf shores and only 15 min drive to enjoy shopping and restaurants. Beach is private to community and nice as well. True my a place you can disconnect and relax with family!

Just for fun for a few people
This place is a good option for 2-3 people. The place was pretty well supplied and has a stackable washer and dryer. The dawn-triggered watering system for the plants on the upper deck is a way to be alerted to when the sun is rising if you want to see it, because it makes a very audible noise in the plumbing system for whoever is sleeping upstairs. I learned to turn it off and wait until I was making coffee to run the system for 5 minutes while my coffee was being made. There is no fan on the upper deck so you might want to bring one to keep mosquitos at bay while out there in the evening.

Short Stay at "Just for Fun"
We spent two nights at "Just for Fun." This was the first time that we had stayed at Kiva Dunes. We liked the community. We also liked the Beach Club. It was nice to have a place to eat close within walking distance. This was a beautiful home. Location was perfect just a short walk to the beach. Beach was so peaceful and enjoyable. The owners were so easy to work with. They sent all info on our trip ahead of time so we had no worries. Everything was perfect. The property was gated so we felt very safe. The housekeeper is a gem also.

Spring Break
This house is in a wonderful location with easy access to all Kiva pools and the beach. It’s in a quiet part of the resort which we appreciated. Great patio with nice furniture! The owners were very easy to communicate with. That said, the house is very small — the kitchen area in particular. Once we moved in our stuff, the house was crowded. We also found the house needing updating and some repairs. There was some drywall damage in the living space and a shower door that was very difficult to open and close. Sofa appeared to need cleaning. Exterior had siding issues that needed repair. The house is not in step with the others in the neighborhood. We have stayed in Kiva Dunes many, many times and would probably not choose to stay here again.

Great location for a great value!!
My husband, 14 year old son, and I had a fabulous time here! The cottage was small but was the perfect size for our family. The location near the beach was AMAZING and the views were stunning. It was a very easy walk. Loved that the beach wasn’t crowded, too!. I am not sure we will ever do a beach condo in one of the popular areas again. It was so nice parking right next to the house and not having to wait on slow elevators 😊 If I had any complaints, it would be that it rained pretty hard every day we were there and there was no covered space to sit outside while it rained. The outside deck was gorgeous but we were never able to enjoy it because of the rain. If the deck was covered, I’d never leave!! But we still had a fabulous time watching movies and playing many of the board games available. The hosts were very accommodating and I’d highly recommend staying here. Just hope for better weather next time!

Great quiet location for beach vacation
Really enjoyed our short stay in Kiva Dunes. We are a family of four (2 teens) and this was a great place for our short beach trip. House was located in a great community with a private beach, and great pools. Would be a perfect place for there are 3 beds, 2 twins and a queen some a family of four is a perfect number here. Near Fort Morgan also and we caught the ferry to Dauphin Island the morning we checked out. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for your hospitality.

Great girls getaway.
We booked this property for a last minute "girls trip" to celebrate granddaugther's senior year and college decision. She wanted a beach location, the home was perfect for us, and I felt comfortable letting the girls walk to the beach alone (17 & 12). Loved the private beach, and the shuttle service. Owners were very helpful along with their housekeeper.

A great getaway
This was a great trip! The cottage is an easy, short walk to the private beach, which wasn’t crowded at all. If you want a simple beach trip without all the hassles of the more populated areas, this is the place for you! I will definitely be back.
