Disappointing stay
We had been made aware that balcony would be unuseable but we're not aware the view would be blocked and construction workers actually walking back and forth, singing and looking inside. We had to keep the drapes closed constantly. A/C is cold but sounds like an airplane overhead. Main bed is uncomfortable, feeling every spring. Bathroom had damage from prior guest and door was showing water damage. Beach umbrella was broken beyond use, no beach towels or kitchen towels. I was charged $15 at check-in without a car so keep that in mind. Elevator and fire alarms are not working in the building so expect to climb 3 flights of stairs with your luggage. Unit is right at top of stairs and across from the laundry so resident noise is constant. The beach was great and access to USS Lexington and the Texas aquarium was great. Beach Walk was lovely. Reccomend the location but not this unit. It needs to be repaired and safe before guests should be allowed inside. No guards off of major balcony repair, if children opened the door, they could easily be injured by construction material or fall. Pictures of balcony and view are very misleading. Bunk beds cannot accommodate adults.

Unfortunate
Property owner responded immediately and attentively, even when some of the many issues were beyond his control. That "musty" smell folks mention in other reviews can otherwise be called "mold" growing on ceiling and walls etc. This building and others close by are rotting and one wouldn't be surprised if condemnation happens gratefully soon. "Sad" is the right definition applicable to these units, though as I say, the owner tried to be helpful. If the unit was half the price I would still need to apologize to my family for putting them through the stress of wasted time in such an unhealthy and unbeautiful experience. The owner trying to salvage multiple issues was a bright spot, however.

You have a great view of the beach without having to pay padre island prices around the room is a lot to do and the room was great despite all the construction going on around it.

Great stay!!
I was so very pleased with my stay here! It was SO very cute and comfy and most importantly for me CLEAN! I clean and manage STRs for a living, and I was very happy. It was just me staying, and the queen bed was soft and comfortable and I slept great, and I felt the twin bunk mattresses and sheets and those were wonderful as well. The view was stunning and serene, the only disappointing thing was that the patio was under construction so you couldn’t go out on it. But that was the only downside. The listing was totally accurate other than that (though when it’s not under construction it would be completely accurate.) The host was fantastic! More than communicative and helpful, even with questions after checkout. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Ocean View!
I had a great experience with the owner of the property. They were very helpful and communicative. The views from the balcony were stunning. It was a great way to wake up in the morning! The water was calm and serene most of my trip and the sunsets were absolutely breathtaking. The beach is within walking distance. (Just ask the front office where the gates are located at check in.) Overall it was a nice vacation.

Nice room, but the building needs some TLC
Overall a positive stay. Check in process was smooth and uneventful, as was checkout process. Parking costs extra (it should just be part of the cost). The building this unit is in needs updating and outside repair...the wear and tear shows (they are currently doing some major upgrading of several units and some units were not open for rental due to construction/repair, this is probably out of control of the individual unit owners, so I don't want to blame them), especially those that directly face the beach. The unit we rented is nice, but a bit smaller than the pictures would indicate. It met our needs though and was tastefully decorated and well provisioned with necessary kitchen items. The porch view is accurately depicted in the listing and was nice to sit outside facing the bay/beach. The unit itself was clean, but had a musty smell upon entering that never really went away. Location is fine for some nice restaurants, the USS Lexington, and the Aquarium. Access to the buildings is supposed to be limited via the gate card key issued at check-in, but we did find some gates propped open on the beach side. This is not the fault of the unit owners, but it does cause a bit of concern regarding overall security of the facility.
